CHIRANJEEV is set in the 1960s. In this decade Keshav Sawant is living peacefully with his family in a small village in Konkan.
Though everything looks fine from the outside Keshav’s family is enduring a strange curse. According to Keshav’s grandmother,
uncle and rest of the villagers in every generation in the Sawant household one male member becomes insane.
Fully believing in this curse the Sawant household conducts many religious rituals regularly to ward of the evil Presently,
Keshav’s uncle in a state of mental imbalance is locked up in the attic. Keshav’s brother and sister do not approve of this. As
Keshav respects his elders he puts up with their superstitious behavior. All of a sudden Keshav and his whole family is in a
state of shock as his insane uncle dies. The villagers as well as his family members start discussing who in the next generation
will loose his mind. The sudden death of his uncle and the suspicious glances from his family and villagers upsets Keshav
and he looses his cool with everyone.
profession no one listens to his pleas. Keshav’s father- in- law takes his wife and children back to his house. Keshav’s dejected
younger brother leaves the house. His mother also can’t stand by him even though she wants to. His elder uncle also
