Denmark Yearbook - 1999

Preface
The Statistical Yearbook is a work of reference whose purpose is to present comprehensible
and illustrative information about social and economic conditions in Denmark.
The Statistical Yearbook is also a guide to official statistics. In addition there are tabulations
of data compiled by Danish authorities or institutions other than Statistics Denmark
(sources are indicated).
The tables relating to Denmark are divided into 14 subject-groups, each with
explanatory text on methods, definitions and references to other statistical sources.
The Yearbook also contains two chapters giving summary information on the Faroe
Islands and Greenland and a chapter on international conditions.
In the present edition of the Statistical Yearbook a variety of new tables have been
included on, e.g. IT sectors in Denmark, enterprises with access to the Internet,
electronic transactions by enterprises, survival rates for new enterprises by industry,
the 20 largest daily newspapers, reported industrial injuries and decisions, earnings
statistics for local and central government employees, production of renewable energy
and regional accounts statistics
The tables in the Statistical Yearbook are compiled by the divisions at Statistics Denmark
which cover the subjects concerned. The present book is edited by Statistics
Denmark's 16th division under the supervision of Mrs. Margrethe Pihl Bisgaard and
Mrs. Birgitte Brøndum.
