BERRIO-OTXOA ATHLETICS CLUB
Last year, Berrio-otxoa athletics club organiced a solidary race. The objective of this event was to collect
money to help SAL NOG. There were runners from all the ages, with out limits. All who wanted to
participated had to pay only 3 euro.
The race took place in the school, in the playground. The kilometres depend of the age of runners.Also,
there was some food and a backpack for each one who took part.
This event was so successful.The club gathered about 7.000 euro, more than they expected to recollect,
so they are thinking to repeat it again this year.

BERRIO-OTXOA FOOTBALL CLUB
Berrio-otxoa football club become the winners of Basque country’s championship ,they needed to work
very hard to did it . After they got all the points which they needed to play the final match, they won it.
The opponent of the club was “Donostia football club”. Even though they were the finalist, it hasn’t been
too complicated for Berrio-otxoa football club to won this championship.They scored amazing 9 goals,
however the other team only scored 1 goal.
Thank to that successful attainment they has been selected for Spain’s championship, which will be
played on may.

THE NEW “MENESIANOS” TEAM BASKETBALL
Since september of this term, the managers of all
berrio-otxoa basketball club changed. A new
group of person take over the club and they carry
some changes like the name of the club, which
now is “menesianos” and all the equipment.
They changed some filds too. That change consisted on putting new ligths and two extra filds
in the sport center of the school. Those filds, help to all the teams of the club to organize and
prepare much better their trainings and matches. Some people think that it is a very good
change for all the club and all the students of Berrio-otxoa school because of the imprive of
their school establishment.

THESE ARE THE MATCHES OF THIS WEEKEND

Juan Maria
Juan Maria de la Mennais was born in 1780 (Saint Malo, France)
and he lived a very difficult childhood because of the French
Revolution. Although that situation he helped priests who were in
danger so he learned a lot about religion and also he tried to study.
After some years he became priest of different places and with the
help of other people he created groups. Nowadays that group
continues and people who participated there is called “Hermanos
Menesianos”.
They have done a lot of missions in poor countries and they have
also created a lot of schools around the world but the best example
is our school.

Every year we do some activities during a week in November to celebrate who was our
school's founder.On Tuesday afternoon we prepare a marathon race around the school,
students of ESO and BACHILLER and also teachers can participate. When you finish the
race you can have a drink and something to eat; for winners there are prizes.
On Wednesday, the students of last year in Bachiller they go to students of other courses and
they sing and dance different song, it's called “tuna”.
On Thursday ESO students have differents activities like basketball, dancing, football…,
BACHILLER students have food competitions and when everyone finish there is a party in the
sports centre. There we deliver the prizes and there are some games and music.
Small children do different things like going to the tximipark or drink the txokolatada.

Sal is a NGO which was created in 1992. It
was created by a group of teenager when
they went to Culipran and Llay-Llay (Chile) in
their summer holidays.
Nowadays, this NGO works in all Latin
America and Bolivia, and they help people
who need, clothes, money or school
education.

Open Door Day
The last Saturday our school offered the service of the
Open Door Day. A lot of families went to saw the facilities
of it and to have fun playing some games or at the
bouncy castle. Everything was organiced by Asti Biltokia
and Aspanovas.
You could also saw the sports facilities that we have and
the school prepared some robotics workshops in english.
The children could also had a great at the Tximi Park,
while the parents had a coffee at the bar.

THE NEW TRACKSUIT!
This year our fantastic director Emilio
work very hard with a very famous
designer to create our new tracksuit.
The students have been complaining
during the years about our tracksuit
style because it is not trendy enough.
Finally, we change it!
