OVERVIEW<br />
RTJ takes a step into the tech world with a new fully-immersive virtual reality (“VR) music video for their socially conscious, hit song<br />
“Crown”. In partnership with WEVR, the leading VR platform, and directed by Peter Martin, the video for “Crown” will give RTJ fans a<br />
chance to experience the video in 360 style with customized RTJ cardboard viewers -- cleverly dubbed as “VRTJ’s”.<br />
The VRTJ viewers will be available exclusively for Record Store Day 2016, giving fans the chance to experience the VR video for<br />
“Crown” using a fully customized Run The Jewels virtual reality viewer. For the viewer to work, all you need is a smart phone<br />
(iPhone, Android, etc). As the VR format becomes more popular, the viewer can also be used for watching future virtual reality content<br />
including 360 videos (but why would you watch anything but RTJ?) The viewer also features a download code for a new unreleased<br />
Run The Jewels song.<br />

The saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. In the music industry,<br />
the main talk these days is about how much has changed with the advent of new<br />
technologies and the image over everything attitude that dominates so much of what we<br />
see and hear. In hip-hop, rappers come and go like the wind. Sounds and styles hit the top<br />
of the charts and then disappear forever. The family tree has grown off in so many different<br />

musical hiatus – a stint in prison, and a radical change in his health regimen briefly shifted<br />
his focus – Face is coming back hard this summer with his 13th album, Deeply Rooted.<br />
From his earliest verses in the late 1980’s as a solo artist and a member of the Geto Boys<br />
to every song on Deeply Rooted, Face has always made sure to tell the stories he feels the<br />
world needs to hear. Whether it is speaking out against injustice, reflecting on his<br />
struggles with depression and his own mental health, or just telling the stories of the<br />

In 2014, the first teaser off Deeply Rooted, the driving, pulsing, sinister sounding “No<br />
Problem,” Face came out swinging, literally, as he strolled the streets alone through his<br />
original hood, South Acres in Houston, TX. Dressed in a low key black sweater and some<br />
casual jeans, with Malcolm X style glasses adding an even greater depth to his dead<br />
serious stare, the first thing you notice is that he’s lost over 100 pounds. He starts things<br />
off by declaring that he’s the “Greatest ever done it, you can learn from it, dope game ran<br />
it, rap game run it, street cred hunnid, nerd turned d boy, not genetic makeup, baby I’m a<br />
G-boy.” It’s quite a declaration, but if you know the man’s history, you know that he earned<br />
the right to say, and mean, every line.<br />
Deeply Rooted features all new material from Brother Mob aka Scarface and includes<br />
guest appearances from Nas, Rick Ross, John Legend, CeeLo, Akon, ZRo, Avant and Papa<br />
Reu.<br />
In April 2015, Scarface earned the title of published author when his autobiography, Diary<br />
of a Madman, released via Dey Street/Harper Collins. The book landed at the top of<br />
