a sermon entitled “Give God Control” so that He can complete His work in us.”
This sermon was based on “Phil 1:6.” God is moving us to maturity and
transformation. Under the leadership of Tony Small, our Minister of Music,
the men served in the Choir on that Sunday.
In August, a group of experienced and "first-timers" went fishing down at the
Chesapeake Bay. The trip was successful, but our catch was not as great as we
planned. To be honest, the first time fishermen were more successful than the
experienced fishermen. Most important, everyone had a great time.
Several members from the MFM participated in the “Annual Day of Service”
with a visit to a Homeless Shelter in Silver Spring. Under the leadership of
Harry Guy and Francis Wangendo, we shared our testimonies, read
scripture and fellowshipped with many of the temporary residents.
This was a great experience for many.
In June, the MFM was at the helm for Project Neighbor Care.
We led the effort and participated in set-up, food preparation,
distribution and clean-up. But, we could not have done this
without the support of the Women of the Church.
