very effective, allowing panoramic

discuss is the dining at Thurlestone
Hotel. This is an area where they excel,
both in terms of the table service and

table again was excellent, attentive,
friendly, not intrusive - I was hardly
aware my wine or water being topped
up, easily some of the best table
service I've ever had (incidentally,
wine recommendations from the
maître d'hôtel were spot on).
Thurlestone regularly run gourmet
stays at the hotel, if you love your food,
every course was a treat. It proved a
delight waiting for dinner time each
evening, as the food was divine. If you
wish to spoil yourself, I cannot think
of anywhere better to do so - see the

If one of your benchmarks for a really good holiday is fine food, I'm
happy to tell you that Thurlestone Hotel provides the full fine-dining
experience and is outstanding. Great provenance, all food is sourced
from local farms, growers and suppliers wherever possible.
I don't think Alfie's ever experienced hospitality like this
before, to say he was totally bowled over would be an
understatement. A special basket with all manner of
biscuits, walk leaflets and even a beautiful yellow ball -
absolutely top notch!

Rooms throughout the hotel are
delightful, my particular favourite was
the dining room which is arranged on
three levels, devised I should imagine
to make the most of the views across
the sea and countryside. The front
porcelain ramekin, each topped
with a waxed paper seal finished in
gold hotel livery. In terms of dining
space, you're given masses of your
own space to dine without being
squashed up against your table (one

these to you. Many hotels claim
to have the necessary 'fine dining'
credentials, Thurlestone certainly has
these in abundance. All I can say is I
