Program Highlights<br />

SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The <strong>TCU</strong> <strong>Ed</strong>uc<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Leadership</strong><br />

program believes <strong>in</strong> do<strong>in</strong>g more than simply educ<strong>at</strong><strong>in</strong>g and guid<strong>in</strong>g our<br />

future school leaders. Community and corpor<strong>at</strong>e partnerships have been<br />

forged to help fund the tuition costs of those selected as <strong>Fellows</strong>, enabl<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the College of <strong>Ed</strong>uc<strong>at</strong>ion to award significant scholarship aid to those<br />

chosen as program participants.<br />

Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal <strong>Leadership</strong> <strong>Fellows</strong> Cohort I<br />

DYNAMIC, RELEVANT CURRICULUM: Curriculum engages students <strong>in</strong><br />

the active, critical resolution of problems through authentic leadership<br />

learn<strong>in</strong>g activities and constructive use of d<strong>at</strong>a to <strong>in</strong>form cont<strong>in</strong>uous<br />

improvement of their own organiz<strong>at</strong>ions.<br />

UNIQUE FACULTY: Faculty is unm<strong>at</strong>ched <strong>in</strong> diversity, depth, and breadth<br />

of experience. Professors come from highly successful careers <strong>in</strong> law,<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess, and executive leadership <strong>in</strong> higher educ<strong>at</strong>ion and school districts.<br />

RIGOROUS SCREENING & SELECTION PROCESS: Competitive applicants<br />

are chosen through rigorous assessments <strong>in</strong>volv<strong>in</strong>g problem solv<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

written and oral communic<strong>at</strong>ions, present<strong>at</strong>ions, and convers<strong>at</strong>ions with a<br />

team of evalu<strong>at</strong>ors, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the sponsors of the <strong>Fellows</strong>’ scholarships.<br />

COHORT LEARNING: Through membership <strong>in</strong> a group, candid<strong>at</strong>es evolve<br />

<strong>in</strong>to a strong network of leaders engaged <strong>in</strong> cont<strong>in</strong>uous learn<strong>in</strong>g, deb<strong>at</strong>e,<br />

and dialogue.<br />

SMALL, PERSONALIZED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: Program enrollment<br />

averages an outstand<strong>in</strong>g 12:1 student-to-teacher r<strong>at</strong>io. Candid<strong>at</strong>es receive<br />

<strong>in</strong>dividual gradu<strong>at</strong>e plann<strong>in</strong>g, ongo<strong>in</strong>g counsel<strong>in</strong>g, and progress reviews.<br />

Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal <strong>Leadership</strong> <strong>Fellows</strong> Cohort II<br />

MENTORING & COACHING: Mentor<strong>in</strong>g and coach<strong>in</strong>g of candid<strong>at</strong>es occurs<br />

dur<strong>in</strong>g and after the program from school districts, <strong>TCU</strong>, and sponsors.<br />

This triangul<strong>at</strong>ion of professional support ensures a successful leadership<br />

experience and produces exceptional educ<strong>at</strong>ional leaders.<br />

PRACTICUM EXPERIENCES: Candid<strong>at</strong>es receive a paid, full year practicum<br />

by the sponsor<strong>in</strong>g districts and release time for relevant cohort<br />

experiences with sponsors.<br />

MONITORED RESULTS: Success is tracked via multiple measures over<br />

several years <strong>in</strong> order to monitor and cont<strong>in</strong>uously improve the program.


Program Pre-Applic<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

Do you have three years of teach<strong>in</strong>g experience and an <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> apply<strong>in</strong>g to the Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal <strong>Leadership</strong> <strong>Fellows</strong> program <strong>at</strong> <strong>TCU</strong>? Start by complet<strong>in</strong>g this preapplic<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

form, speak<strong>in</strong>g with your campus pr<strong>in</strong>cipal, and submitt<strong>in</strong>g required documents to your district leadership. <strong>Fellows</strong> who are admitted to the M.<strong>Ed</strong><br />

program enjoy a high-quality, problems-based cohort experience supported by partners <strong>in</strong> the DFW community. Cost of the program for Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal <strong>Leadership</strong><br />

ROUND II: <strong>Leadership</strong><br />
