Coe alumni, family members
and friends enjoyed “Viva Las
Vegas, Welcome to Fabulous
Coe College” for Homecoming
Weekend 2007. Events in-
cluded the 19 th annual 5k run/
walk with 150 participants,
the parade, the crowning of
Homecoming royalty, and
a heartbreaking kohawk
football loss in overtime.
Sinclair Auditorium was filled
for the annual Homecoming
Showcase Concert, featuring
nearly 250 talented Coe
musicians and five different
musical groups. Over 600
guests enjoyed the 17th
annual Brat ’n Beverage Tent,
sponsored by the Student
Alumni Association.
Throughout the weekend,
reunion events were held for
the classes of ’71, ’72 and ’73;
Katie Mraz ’09 pins flowers on
Homecoming parade grand marshals
Bill and Janis Quinby. Bill,
a former Coe athletics director and
NFL referee, received the
Eliza Hickok Kesler
Outstanding Service Award at
Commencement.
Steph Beecher ’09 and Valerie
Steele ’08 completed the 19th
annual 5k run/walk dressed
as slot machines in the spirit of the
“Viva Las Vegas” theme.

The weekend also featured
special reunions for Chi
Omega alumnae and Lambda
Chi Alpha alumni. A Spellman
reunion in honor of beloved
professor and coach Bill “Doc”
Spellman, who died 10 years
ago, was also held.
The Coe Concert Choir, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Women’s Chorale, Crimson and Gold and Symphony Orchestra came together for the annual Homecoming
Showcase Concert.
