• Applies to All New Building Construction; Army, Navy, Air Force Worldwide
Requirements:
• Integrated Design Team Process
• Life-cycle Cost/Benefit Analysis
• Advanced Energy & Water Conservation Performance Requirements
Impact - Improved Mission Capability Through:
• Reduced Total Ownership Costs of Facilities
• Improved Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation
• Enhanced Facility and Installation Performance & Sustainability
• Promoting Sustainable Resource and Environmental Stewardship
• Enhance Energy & Water Security
Modula S represents the opportunity to design systems which are high performance,
sustainable and reduce the total ownership cost of facilities. The Modula S system is cost
competitive with existing construction on a capital basis and can offer significant life-cycle
cost savings. The system is a unique "kit of parts" designed and engineered to exceed
the current state of the art in building performance.
Modula S Benefits
INTEGRATED DESIGN TEAM PROCESS
Modula S offers an unparalled design team with extraordinary expertise in integrated
systems design. We are architects, our team is ARUP Engineers, Booz Allen Hamilton
Engineering Services, Idaho National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory. We also offer the engineering integration capabilities of our suppliers,
recently Olin Brass/Cuverro teamed with Acorn Manufacturing to produce the worlds first
antibacterial toilet for our design of the USAID Ebola Treatment Unit.
LIFE-CYCLE COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS (LCCA)
In extreme expeditionary environments we provide superior building performance, one
quarter the power for seven times the floor area. We eliminate much of the supply chain
with leads to significantly reduced operational costs. In a recent LCCA study for the
CENTCOM area we concluded life cycle costs could be cut in half.
ADVANCED ENERGY & WATER CONSERVATION PERFORMANCE
The Modula S "Passive Performance" building envelope assembly is tested and field
proven for R-60 performance and significantly exceeds the requirements of International
Building Code. We have created a single assembly which performs equally well in all
climates worldwide. We add to this our surface groundsource geothermal system and we
reduce energy consumption to the lowest level possible.
We have designed our buildings with built-in water purification and graywater recycling
for a 75% reduction in water use.
