for Education and Skills, Ruairi Quinn
We live in an age of unprecedented connectedness, where
knowledge can be instantaneously transmitted around the
world, with no regard to national borders. It’s therefore
more important than ever for students to have an international
outlook, to be interculturally aware and to consider
themselves global citizens.
That’s why I’m delighted that so many talented students from
around the world have chosen Ireland to pursue their studies.
The mix of so many different experiences, perspectives and
ideas helps to make our education institutions more diverse,
academically enriching and exciting. The Irish Government
places huge value on the contribution which the international
student community makes to Irish life.
For my part, as Minister for Education and Skills, I hope
that an education in Ireland continues to be a positive and
transformational experience that will add real value to the
lives of our students.
I want to congratulate the team behind Yeah! International
Student Magazine and I hope that it will prove a vibrant
