Advocating for Photonics at European level<br />
<strong>Photonics21</strong> organized a lunch event at the Knowledge4Innovation Summit from the 7 th to 10 th<br />
December 2015 in Brussels focusing on the topic “Digitalisation of Industry”. <strong>Photonics21</strong> Executive<br />
Board member Dr. Thomas Rettich represented the platform and outlined the potential of photonics for<br />
driving digital manufacturing. Khalil Rouhana, Director European Commission presented the Digitising<br />
European Industry Initiative. Klaus Fuest presented results of the study The Digital Transformation of<br />
Industry by Roland Berger.<br />
