Afternoon at leisure. Overnight. Day 2: Rome After breakfast, enjoy a guided half-day tour of the eternal city including Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Navona Square and St. Peter's Basilica. The tour ends at St. Peter's. Afternoon at leisure. B Day 3: Rome • Pompeii • Sorrento Early morning departure for Naples, where we enjoy a panoramic tour. On to Pompeii, the famous Roman city destroyed by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Lunch in a local restaurant, before visiting the excavations. We continue to Sorrento dinner and overnight. B L D Day 4: Capri excursion • Optional Blue Grotto ($) Depart for Capri by ferry for a guided tour of the Island by minibus. Stop in Anacapri for a short visit. Lunch at a local restaurant. Leisure time for shopping, strolling, people watching or the optional excursion to the Blue Grotto ($). Ferry back and return to your hotel. Dinner and overnight. B L D Day 5: Sorrento • Amalfi Coast Transfer to Amalfi. Your walking tour will explore the most fascinating and interesting places of Florence: Palazzo Vecchio and Loggia dei Lanzi, Repubblica square, the Cathedral with the Brunelleschi’s Dome, the Baptistery with its famous Gates of Paradise. Included is entrance to the Uffizi Gallery to visit its beautiful collections of painting from the Italian Renaissance. The tour ends on the Uffizi’s terrace to admire the beautiful view on the Ponte Vecchio. Overnight. B Day 9: Florence • Siena • San Gimignano • Chianti • Florence This morning you will depart for a full day excursion through the Tuscan countryside, including a stop in San Gimignano, a picturesque, fascinating medieval town declared a World heritage Site by UNESCO and famous for its white wine, Vernaccia. Your day will continue to Siena, a medieval town with the suggestive Piazza del Campo famous for the Palio. In the afternoon, we visit the Chianti area with its impressive picturepostcard landscape and at a famous wine estate for wine-tasting. We return to Florence for overnight. B Day 10: Florence • Cinque Terre • Florence This morning we depart for a full day excursion to the enchanting Cinque Terre (five villages), suspended between sea and land and listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. We arrive in La Spezia and reach Riomaggiore by train continuing to visit the villages of Manarola and Monterosso. Take the boat (depending on weather/sea condition) to Vernazza, a seaside town. Lunch is included en route. Return to Florence for overnight. B L Recommended to bring comfortable clothes, swimwear and sun protection. Day 11: Florence • Rome Breakfast at hotel.
