Fundación Empretec Argentina serves<br />
clients of bank: with the purpose of diffusing<br />
the Empretec programme in and<br />
across the country, the centre teamed<br />
up with the marketing team of its host<br />
institution, the Banco de la Nación, and<br />
granted more than 700 of the bank’s<br />
clients the opportunity to benefit from<br />
Empretec services.<br />
Women entrepreneurship<br />
Ms. Lorena Picasso, creator of Somno,<br />
a start-up producing and selling educational<br />
games for people with disabilities,<br />
won the third prize of the Empretec Women<br />
in Business Award (E-WBA) 2014.<br />
Another Argentinian empreteca, Ms.<br />
Pabla Torres, was also awarded during<br />
the 2014 E-WBA ceremony in Geneva<br />
for her «green» business, promoting the<br />
use of biodegradable pesticides that<br />
leave no persistent residues in the environment.<br />
Promoting innovative<br />
entrepreneurial ideas<br />
Banco de la Nación Argentina (BNA), in<br />
cooperation with the Empretec centre,<br />
announced the 2014 (6th edition)<br />
Concurso Emprendimientos Innovadores<br />
Banco Nación, with the aim of<br />
contributing to the creation and development<br />
of new dynamic and innovative<br />
enterprises. The competition distributes<br />
$ 350,000 in prizes and the winners<br />
will have the opportunity to attend the<br />
Empretec Entrepreneurship Training<br />
Workshop, organized by Fundación<br />
Empretec Argentina.<br />
