The present E-Portfolio has the purpose to show the different activities developed
in the first period of the Introduction to Linguistic Course of the Bachellor
degree in English of the first semester of 2016 that is in charge of Licenciado
Francisco Javier Andrade.
First, it is presentes a Self Reflective Essay , In which the author writes
about her experience in the course, talking abut her strenghts and weaknessess
that she had to face, also it shows a brief prove about the content that
was developed in the first period.
Then, the E-Portfolio has the collection of all the activities developed for
the students including essays, graphics, questions, exersices and summaries of
the different topics developed in classses that were previously checked for the
teacher.
And finally, it includes a set of Reflective Questions that are related with the
way in which the contents were presented by the teacher and the attitude of
the students in class and at the moment of do each homework/task in order to
analyze what could have done in a different way or could be better for the next
period.

It is so impressive the beneffits that we can obtain when we do our best
effort in order to learn different things in life. During the first period of the
Introduction to Linguistic Course I imporoved my skills and I faced some challenges
that helped me too much to be able to talk and practice the contents that
this course is bringing up. During the process of learning Linguistic it is necessary
to be prepared to prove our continuosly learning, because in this way the
teacher can identify if as students we understand and if we are able to apply
the knoledge in real situations or practice exercises by ourselves.
Personally I really enjoyed each class because all of those were interesting in a
certain way, since the presentation of te teacher to the interaction with my
classmates; I had the experience to share the information that I was Reading
and develop my Reading and comprehension skills and also my writing skills at
the moment of presenting an essay or summary, also it was necessary to draw
some mind maps of some topics and in this way I nedded to read carefully in
order to select the main and most important information; there were also another
kind of activities that were very helpful as for example responding some questions
about a video or a long text because it implied to comprenhend and to analyze
each single question giving my own opinion, doing this I can be able to speak
and try to do it fluenty and clearly. Then also I have learned to ask questions
when I consider that I will have problems in the future. In addition to this, I had
the opportunitie to participate more in the classroom because the group of students
is not too big and everyone has the chance of asking somethig or give a
opinion with confidence.
But, in the other hand I had to face some challenges and weaknesses as
well, for example the process of memorize some definitions or terms to be
ready in a interview or to memorize the consonant chart as part of the features
of consonants because I am not good to memorize exactly the information.

7
Also I presented some problems to comprenhend the process of doing morphological
analyzes, but I tried to do it and I asked to my classmated when I did not understand
something in a homework. Another of the biggest challenges was to understand
new terminology of language and formation of words, it implied to search for information and
try to understand with the support of the internet or books, but also it become a strengh at
the same time. Probably a negative aspect that could disserve my attitude in this
course is the schedule, but I try to arrive early and do each homework at time.
After all, it was a good experience because it helps me to be prepared for
futures challenges and do not fear at the moment of a interview about the content
developed in other courses. There were studied the bases of Linguistic and
I think that every student is prepared to understand the rest of content that we
will be learning during the semenster. It also is important to discover my weaknesses
and to identify different ways to solve it and improve the skills that I
nedd in the ideal level. This become easy with the teacher´s motivation and the
respectives strategies that he is giving to us in order to improve our skills and
attitudes as students of English as second language. Finally, the challenges in
this course are big, but I know that the results of learning are on me, if I try
to do my best effort every single day, and practicing responsablilty at the moment
of be in class or to present the homeworks.

1- What did you learn during this period?
I learned many important things, about language and communication, and also about special
features of language, I also learned new vocabulary, we developed some morphology
exercises and phonetics, consonants and vowel sounds And the different kind of phrases
and how to identify some of them.
2. Did you give your best effort on this E.Portfolio Project? Why?
I think I did a 0% of my effort, because I did not present some tasks because I was doing
another activities of another courses, but I could do it better, even that, at the end of this
work I tried to do my best to prepare the final E-Portfolio Presentation.
3. Did this Portfolio activity help you learn more tan others we´ve done? Why?
Yes, It was a good way to remember what I was learning during the first period, so, doing
thuis activity I can ientify the content that I need to strengthen.
4. Did you come to cass prepared to learn (in both ypur attitude and with all your
supplies)?
Yes, I did it in a 90%, because of the Schedule of the class, it results tired for me because I
have class from 7:00 to 12:00 and this made me feel without wishes to go to class, bute
ven that I think that my effort was worth because I went to every class that was possible
and I always learned important things.
5. If you could do this asignment over, what would you do differently?
Maybe ask to students to do this in pair, in order to help each other in some content that was
not understood.
6. What class activities or assignments help you learn the most?
I think the assignments that helped me learn the most were the interviews in front of the class
because we were sharing what we learned from one topic.

23
7. What do you believe the teacher could have done differently to help you learn the lesson
easier?
It was a nice period, I liked the way we worked, maybe the teacher could have done is
“Separate what the student do and don’t understand” and Practice frequency, checking for
understanding at least three times a lesson.
8. What is one thing the teacher did during the class that you really liked?
I liked all the activities, but specially I really liked the way in which the teacher encouraged student´s
motivation to work by themselves and to analyze the information of each lesson.
9. How can you prove to the teacher that you master the contents from the first period?
It could be by doing a summary of the activities that are presented in the present E-Portfolio.
