Welcome to the Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre
As the new Chief Executive, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our readers,
and to our new Centre Newsletter. Neil White, Chief Executive
Welcome to the Spring edition issue of our Centre
Newsletter covering the months of March, April
and May 2016.
Welcome to new staff members
We are delighted to welcome two
new members of staff to the team at
the Centre.
Suresh Patel started work at the
Centre at the end of last year as one
of our Care Assistants, and since then
has made a valuable contribution to
the day care programme for our most vulnerable and
dependent clients. We wish him all the best in his new role
at the Centre and I am sure you will get the opportunity
to meet him in the coming weeks and months.
We also welcome Ian Lynch,
who will be starting as our new
Operations Manager in April. Ian is
a very experienced manager, having
worked for Brent Council in various
adult social care roles for the last 28
years, and knows the sector very well.
He has recently been employed as the Deputy Manager
at the Kingsbury Resource Centre, and will be bringing
a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role
at the Centre. He will be managing the care team at the
Centre, and assisting myself with the smooth operation
and development of the Centre in the coming months
and years. We wish him all the best in his new role, and I
am sure that you will all get an opportunity to meet Ian
in the very near future.
Developments at the Centre
The Centre continues to develop in new ways and we are
planning some changes in the coming months.
The Friends of Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre have very
kindly agreed to fund the redecoration of all the public
spaces including the entrance lobby, the day care lounge
and the dining hall and these changes will bring a fresh
feel to the premises. We plan to have the work done in
the Spring when the weather improves, and will ensure
the minimum disruption to our day care and community
activities, whilst the work is being done.
We are also planning to install new road and pedestrian
signage for the Centre in the coming months, and these
will be located at the entrance to the car park off the
Harrow Road, and the main entrance into the premises.
Brent Council have already installed a new road sign
opposite the Centre, by the bus stop next to Butler’s
Green, which some of you may have already noticed. All
going well, we plan to have this signage installed during
April. So, please look out for the changes in the coming
months.
We have also produced a new leaflet marketing the new
Day Care prices at the Sudbury Neighbourhood Centre,
and this has now been advertised in The Harrow Times
and The Brent and Kilburn Times, and we have also
leafleted 9,000 addresses in the HA0 postcode area in
February. We have a feature in the March issue of the
Brent Magazine which you should have through your
door in the coming weeks, so please look out for this.
If you would like some leaflets to promote the Centre
to your friends and family, or neighbours, please speak
to Katia in the office and she will be more than happy
to oblige. We can supply leaflets electronically as well
should you wish to email them on our behalf.
