N1, CHARLIE WRIGHT’S INTERNATIONAL BAR.<br />

Demolished in 2015 to make way for residential<br />

development, with bar/restaurants on ground floor.<br />

N1, DUKE OF WELLINGTON (ex-Pubs’n’Bars), 71 Nile St.<br />

Closed in February, under threat of redevelopment, local<br />

campaign group aiming to have it ACV listed.<br />

N1, MARIE LLOYD (Enterprise). Having closed in 2013,<br />

permission granted December 2014 to demolish and build<br />

residential.<br />

N2, ALEXANDRA (ex-Punch), 98 Fortis Green. Having<br />

closed in 2012, planning permission for residential<br />

conversion has now been granted on appeal.<br />

N4, POWERHAUS. Was SIR GEORGE ROBEY. Having<br />

closed in 2002, now at last demolished.<br />

N7, 12 BAR (Enterprise). Was VICTORIA, TOMMY FLYNN’S,<br />

PHIBBERS. Closed and boarded suddenly in February, future<br />

uncertain.<br />

N7, FILTHY’S (Star). Was PRINCE OF WALES, HOBGOBLIN,<br />

HERBERT CHAPMAN. Closed in 2015, due to become a<br />

chicken restaurant.<br />

N7, ROSIE MCCANNS. Having closed in 2013, now a<br />

Vietnamese restaurant.<br />

N12, TOMMY FLYNN’S (Enterprise). Was WISHING WELL,<br />

FINCHLEY TAVERN. Cask beer discontinued.<br />

N14, MAZE INN (ex-Punch), 95 Bramley Rd. Was<br />

MERRYHILLS. Closed and demolished in 2011, not<br />

previously reported.<br />

N14, MAZE INN (Punch), 7 Chase Side. Was YE OLDE<br />

RISING SUN. Having been reported closed in 2011,<br />

reopening in 2013 was not reported. Recently sold, now<br />

closed and boarded, future uncertain.<br />

N16, BABBLE JAR. Closed in 2015, will become a Franco<br />

Manca pizza restaurant.<br />

N16, MERCADO. Closed a few years ago, part now<br />

incorporated into next-door restaurant and part now an<br />

estate agent.<br />

N19, WHITTINGTON & CAT (McGovern). Closed in 2014,<br />

linked to building works next-door, still not reopened.<br />

N21, GREEN DRAGON (ex-Enterprise). Was JIM<br />

THOMPSON’S. Having been sold and closed in January<br />

2015, permission now granted for residential conversion.<br />

Adopting a harsher stance than other planning authorities,<br />

Enfield twice refused ACV status and were unsympathetic<br />

to a local campaign to save this prominent pub.<br />

BARNET (EN4), ALEXANDRA (Punch). Sold in 2011, closed<br />

in 2012, demolished in 2015.<br />

BARNET (EN5), OLD RED LION (McMullen). Having been<br />

sold and closed in February 2015, demolished March 2016<br />

to make way for residential development.<br />

NORTH WEST<br />

NW1, BLACK HEART (Barworks). Was CAMDEN TUP. Cask<br />

beer suddenly discontinued in January, after being included<br />

in the GBG for the first time.<br />

NW3, MAGDALA (London Pubs Ltd). Having only reopened<br />

in August, closed in February; the operators of this Regional<br />

Inventory pub say they were unable to agree the terms of a<br />

longer lease.<br />

NW6, CORRIB REST (Claddagh Ring). Closed in 2015,<br />

intended to be a six-month refurbishment, now it will stay<br />

closed longer.<br />

NW6, KING’S HEAD. Having closed a few years ago,<br />

largely demolished to make way for residential<br />

development, with supermarket now on ground floor.<br />

NW9, GEORGE (Punch). Cask beer discontinued.<br />

NW10, GREEN MAN. Closed a couple of years ago, now a<br />

restaurant.<br />

NW10, WISHING WELL. Closed in the last few years, now<br />

a William Hill betting shop.<br />

HARROW (HA2), EASTCOTE ARMS (Punch). Having closed<br />

in 2012 and been sold, rumoured reopening as a sports bar<br />

has not materialised, now being used to sell furniture.<br />

HARROW (HA1), OSCARS (Best Western). Closed and<br />

boarded late 2015, residential development expected.<br />

STANMORE (HA7), MAN IN THE MOON (Wetherspoon).<br />

Sold and closed in February, not among those recently<br />

placed on the market. Will become a Nandos.<br />

SOUTH EAST<br />

SE1, ALL BAR ONE (M&B), 28-30 London Bridge St.<br />

Demolished as part of the wholesale redevelopment of<br />

London Bridge Station.<br />

SE1, BEEHIVE (Enterprise). Cask beer discontinued. On the<br />

market for sale or let.<br />

SE1, MARQUIS OF WELLINGTON (Enterprise). Closed and<br />

boarded at the start of 2015, lease on the market.<br />

SE1, PRINCE ALBERT. Reported closed in 2015, future<br />

uncertain.<br />

SE5, BRITISH QUEEN. Reported closed early 2016, future<br />

uncertain.<br />

SE8, LORD CLYDE (Admiral). Closed since c.2013, on the<br />

market, future uncertain.<br />

SE10, KING WILLIAM HOTEL. The hotel bars closed in<br />

2015, licence revoked. The ground floor is now a Turkish<br />

restaurant and the basement is closed.<br />

SE13, HANSBURY’S <strong>FREE</strong> HOUSE (ex-Pubs’n’Bars).<br />

Closed in 2015, future uncertain, owner Golfrate has applied<br />

to convert upstairs to residential.<br />

SE16, ALBION (Enterprise). This Regional Inventory pub<br />

was sold and closed in 2011, not previously reported.<br />

Upstairs converted to residential, ground floor still disused.<br />

SE16, KERNEL BREWERY TAP. On-sales ceased in<br />

September. The shop remains open Sat 9-14 for off-sales.<br />

SE16, PIZZA LOUNGE (Brakspear). Was THREE<br />

COMPASSES, DEAL PORTER. Reported closed summer<br />

2015, permission granted to demolish and build residential<br />

with commercial use on ground floor.<br />

SE17, ROSE & CROWN (Enterprise). Sold in 2014, closed,<br />

permission now granted for residential conversion upstairs,<br />

supposedly retaining a bar.<br />

SE18, O’DOWDS. Closed in 2014, on the market.<br />

SE19, GIPSY HILL TAVERN (Enterprise). Cask beer<br />

discontinued.<br />

SE19, HAVANA HOUSE (Punch). Was QUEEN’S ARMS,<br />

ORANGE KIPPER, BLACK SHEEP. Sold and closed in late<br />

2013, permission granted for residential conversion upstairs,<br />

building works under way.<br />

SE21, CROWN & GREYHOUND (M&B). This Regional<br />

Inventory pub closed in 2014, reopening delayed after<br />

structural problems were found in the skittle alley.<br />
