1. PILOTA FERRARI EVOLUTION
Welcome to the Pilota Ferrari driving courses
Pilota Ferrari driving courses represent the story of a successful project that began in
1993 with the objective of offering Ferrari customers a service of the highest technical
and logistical profile and enabling them to savour the formidable performance of the
models of the Prancing Horse to the full, in safety.
The course contents have been developed and have evolved over time with continuity,
professionalism and attention to Ferrari customer expectations, developing a driver
teaching methodology which is ever more refined and detailed, made complete with
the most modern technologies in the field and aligned with the technological evolution
of the Ferrari models.
The Pilota Ferrari course, exclusively available to customers, provides the opportunity
to attend various and successive course levels, offering content which is increasingly
technical and complex, delivered at the perfect pace, to be tackled using the experience,
sensitivity and driving technique acquired in previous courses. Starting from the Sport
course, by passing through the Advanced and Evolution levels, reaching the Scuola
Pilota Challenge and Challenge course, Ferrari customers have the opportunity to really
improve their driving style and skills behind the wheel, to the point of being able to
acquire sufficient mastery to compete safely in real Challenge Championship races.
A complete program, therefore, perfectly structured, able to match the various
expectations of the students, thanks to the use of circuits with a high technical level and
equipped with specific infrastructures, cutting-edge scenarios perfect for sports driving
courses where Ferrari cars and customers are the protagonists.
disposizione dall’organizzazione a Fiorano.
2. TAKING PART IN THE COURSES
A multi-level course for continuous progress
Cars with extreme performance, motor racing and driver development are what Ferrari
is all about. Taking part in a Pilota Ferrari driving course means learning from the
people best equipped to teach you. Drivers-instructors are all professionals with years
of Ferrari driving experience behind them, equipped to accompany “beginners” from
the Sport course to the most advanced levels.
The didactically integrated learning path of Pilota Ferrari sports driving courses lets
you progress through a succession of levels right up to “racing” level. At this point,
if you wish, you can enter the Ferrari Challenge series. At the same time, teaching is
totally personalized, so that students can be sure of learning how to make full use of the
amazing performance that Ferrari cars offer.
The selection and preparation of the Ferrari cars made available for students to drive
on the Fiorano track is therefore of fundamental importance. The fleet consists of six
458 Italia, three 458 Speciale, four F12berlinetta and five 458 Challenge. These models
provide course participants with the ideal learning opportunity, as well as the ultimate
driving experience.
3. SPORTS DRIVING COURSE
In the driving seat: the first step towards competitive driving
The Pilota Ferrari course offers a complete, progressive program focused on giving
participants a comprehensive understanding of sport driving techniques. The course consists
of a specific and exciting two-day training program based on an exclusive, personalized
teaching method, using Ferrari cars for track work and vehicle control exercises.
Twenty-eight customers are divided into four groups of seven participants each and receive
direct, engaging instruction on the most efficient driving position in the cockpit, progressive
accelerator and brake control, establishing precise driving lines through bends and braking
and acceleration techniques. Teaching leads up to thrilling car control exercises that include
conditions of power over steer.
The course also provides a great opportunity for getting familiar with the actual performance
of various Ferrari models thanks to a program that lets you experience different electronic
vehicle control setups. The practical instruction is completed by several theory sessions
aimed at giving a more in-depth insight into driving technique and helping drivers analyse
vehicle behaviour.
13

4. CORSO AVANZATO
in vettura (telemetria).
Evoluzione.
16

4. ADVANCED COURSE
Further instruction on high-speed driving and vehicle control
For customers who have already completed the Sport Course and grasped the basic driving
techniques, Ferrari offers this second, more advanced program.
The Advanced Course admits twenty participants, divided into four groups of five each.
Participants get the opportunity to do plenty of intensive, specialist Ferrari driving and
learn about advanced high-speed driving and vehicle control. As always, the emphasis is on
continuity in practice and safety.
The Advanced Course also involves several theory sessions that can be individually tailored
to suit the technical aptitude and driving style of each participant, thanks to the continuous
use of the in-car data acquisition system (telemetry). Starting from this level of course,
participants learn to analyse their own performance behind the wheel, including through
dynamic skill trials. This is elaborated upon in the follow-on Evolution Course.
17

5. CORSO EVOLUZIONE
5. EVOLUTION COURSE
Technical excellence and on-track thrills:
the emotion of sports performance
The Evolution Course divides participants into four groups of four and offers them the
opportunity to develop their on-road Ferrari driving skills while experiencing the unique thrill
of driving a 458 Challenge race car.
Driving techniques and excitement are enhanced by in-depth telemetric analysis, also based
on the use of competition cars and tyres. What’s more, a highly personalized teaching
approach is dedicated to improving the technique and personal performance of each
participant in every detail. Again, this is thanks to intensive use of data acquisition systems.
As its name suggests, the Evolution Course is the natural “evolution” of the Pilota Ferrari
course. By means of dynamic skill trials, the course helps drivers adapt sports driving
techniques to day-to-day situations in advanced track sessions during which they discover
the performance of road-going Ferraris and that of the 458 Challenge race car, plus their
own personal limits.
12. CORSO PILOTA IN USA
Austin, Mt. Tremblant & Aspen
I suoi oltre 4 km combinano
12. CORSO PILOTA USA
Austin, Mt. Tremblant and Aspen
Now available at two premium tracks in North America, Ferrari Corso Pilota is an exclusive
two- day precision driving school that allows Ferrari Owners and special guests to experience
the performance of a Ferrari in the controlled environment of a race track. Offered since 2006
in Mt. Tremblant Canada and now in Austin, Texas, these courses are based on the Corso
Pilota programs available in Italy.
The new course in Austin will allow participants to experience the thrill of this state-of-theart,
3.4- mile circuit track that offers 133 feet of elevation change. It not only hosts the most
prestigious racing events in the world, it is the only F1A-certified grade track in the U.S. Located
in the heart of the Laurentian Mountains, Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant is an ideal setting for a
driving school. The 2.65-mile track combines the natural topography of the site with elevation
changes from the start/finish line to corner-8 and back.
During the two-day program, participants will learn from a host of current and former professional
racers in techniques such as threshold braking, weight transfer, managing acceleration,
identifying the ideal driving line on track and discovering the limits of vehicle adhesion in both
wet and dry driving situations. Although the setting is a race track, Ferrari Corso Pilota is not
a racing school. The focus is on learning to drive and control a Ferrari properly and to understand
and communicate with the vehicle. Graduates are then better prepared to face challenging
driving situations with an enhanced sense of awareness and greater precision.
Located within a short one hour air flight from Aspen, Ferrari has a dedicated snow-and- ice
track in Steamboat Springs, CO. The highly technical course will allow participants, under the
close direction of Ferrari instructors, to experience the impressive handling attributes of the FF
through its Ferrari 4WD system.
Pilota Ferrari - Challenge Course (Varano de’ Melegari Racetrack)
The course
The Challenge course is the toughest of all Pilota Ferrari courses, and takes the sports driving concepts developed
in the three previous levels to their natural conclusion. It is designed to offer customers a superbly professional
and technically evolved service. The theory and practice acquired in a Pilota Ferrari - Evolution Course
are prerequisites for all aspiring Challenge Course participants. The course program involves intensive use of
the 458 Challenge to ensure progressive improvement of driving techniques and performance. The dynamically
structured course program is based on timed driving sessions on the track. Participants are therefore given an
opportunity to become familiar with basic racing techniques like starting and overtaking, as well as the procedures
for the various stages of a race, car setup methods and race rules. At the end of the course, participants can
also sit the test for driving cars of over 2000 cc required by the Italian National Sports Federation to compete
in Ferrari Challenge races. The course therefore offers an exciting and professional experience and develops you
as a “real” Ferrari driver.
Course dates
The courses last two days and take place on the following dates: 28/29 July, 25/26 September.
Pilota Ferrari - Scuola Piloti Challenge Course (Varano de’ Melegari Racetrack)
The course
“Pilota Ferrari – Challenge Driver School” is an innovative course which combines instruction to perfect driving
technique on road-going cars with specific preparation for driving the Challenge model, with the potential
for participants to get the licence that permits them to compete in the relevant championship. The Challenge
Driver School offers drivers the opportunity to condense the technical content necessary to drive the Challenge
model appropriately and safely into a single course, if participants have not previously attended the Evolution
Driver Course, a requisite for taking part in the Challenge Driver Course. The course comprises an initial day of
practical sessions on 458 Italia, 458 Speciale including: telemetry analysis of performance on the track, use of a
pace-car, finding the car’s limits in cornering and optimising overall driving performance, also with chronometric
analysis. Starting from the second day, the track driving activity develops with the integrated, then intensive
use of the Challenge model, with a progression of content based on the improvement of driving technique and
performance, concluding with the standard Challenge Course program. The practice of the third day hinges on
timed track driving sessions, to allow participants to acquire basic racing concepts, like starting and overtaking
techniques, and learn the procedures for the various stages of a race, car set-up methods plus race rules and
regulations for the Challenge Championship. At the end of the course, participants can also sit the test for driving
cars of over 2000 cc required by the Italian National Sports Federation to compete in Ferrari Challenge races.
Course dates
Measure your head as shown, around the the widest
part of your head. This is generally right above your
eyebrows and ears. If you plan on wearing a balaclava
(we suggest it), you should measure your head with it on.
