Corridor V United Negro College Fund Presidents Reception

New York Basilie welocme Dr. Tashni –Ann Dubray, Incoming President of Shaw University
Nerw York, NY. March 2nd 2016. For the third year the Brothers of
Corridor Five of the 2nd District banded together in order to host the
reception for the college presidents attending the UNCF Gala the following
evening. The reception was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Midtown
Manhattan.
The eleven participating chapters, which were Alpha Upsilon, Kappa
Omicron, Nu Omicron, Zeta Psi, Epsilon, Xi Phi, Iota Xi, Omicron Iota,
Beta Alpha Alpha, Xi Lambda Lambda and Psi Lambda Lambda, recognized
the new incoming presidents of UNCF colleges and universities.
Certificates were presented to Dr. Ronald A. Johnson of Clark Atlanta
University, Dr. Colette Pierce Burnett of Houston–Tillotson College, Dr.
Andre Miller of LeMoyne-Owen College, Dr. Roderick L. Smothers Sr. of
Philander Smith College, Dr. Mary Schmidt Campbell of Spellman
College, Frank L. Sims (Interim) of Fisk University, Dr. Edward L.

College, Frank L. Sims (Interim) of Fisk University, Dr. Edward L.
Wheeler of the InternationalTheological Center, Dr. Samuel Sullivan (Interim)
of Paine College, Dr. Tashni – Ann Duboy of Shaw University and
Dr. C. Reynold Verret of Xavier University.
The reception is a part of a larger project to establish a scholarship fundraising
program that will be sponsored by the New York Chapters in
conjunction with UNCF.
In addition to the presidents, Dr. Michael L. Lomax, President and Executive
Officer of UNCF, attended the reception. Dr. Lomax spoke highly of
our efforts and encouraged The New York chapters to continue to help to
support UNCF.
Special thanks goes to Brother Fred Mitchell, Vice President in charge of
the New York Office of UNCF, for his continuing support of the project.
