Welcome
A warm welcome to Open Studios 2016
A town lives or dies by its imagination, by its creativity. One of the great joys, then, of
the Site Festival’s Open Studios lies in travelling from house to house, studio to studio
and finding a direct line to the deep-seated creative, imaginative streak of Stroud, its
valleys and attendant villages.
There is so much to find out there, in the surprising nooks and crannies of the Five
Valleys (be they architectural or imaginative), art to suit all tastes and tempers, from
the most delicate still lives to the wildest of sculptures. The keen eyes, careful hands
and often riotously surprising minds of people you pass daily, unthinkingly on the
streets of Stroud are laid bare.
I have spent the best part of the last couple of decades doing the grand annual tour
of Stroud’s creative set, and still, every time, I find something new to surprise or
delight me.
Honestly, how can you resist this smorgasbord of Stroud’s art? Get out there! Dive in!
Be amazed!
I design print & dye cloth for furnishing
in taxidermy that are translated into
& for fashion. I am fortunate to have
fabric, yarn and thread. I then use my
a space in which printing is possible
own style and process called weave
for curtain lengths as well as cloth for
