A word from the owners<br />
Family owned and run, we have worked closely with the local Masai community<br />
to construct this unique lodge. Guests have access to the 35,000 acre Siana<br />
Conservancy that both protects the local wildlife and directly benefits the<br />
Masai community. Spirit of the Masai Mara offers the ideal location for both<br />
private game viewing within our conservancy and the opportunity to witness<br />
the Great Migration in the Masai Mara Game Reserve.<br />

ARRIVE IN STYLE<br />
On arrival in Nairobi, clients take a light aircraft for a 45 minute flight over<br />
the Rift Valley to the Siana Airstrip. You’ll be greeted with refreshments<br />
before being driven in our bespoke safari vehicles back to the lodge.<br />
Along the way, guests will have their first encounter with the wildlife the<br />
conservancy has to offer.

Spirit of the Masai Mara consists of 10 solidly built air conditioned suites,<br />
uniquely blending a modern design and traditional building materials. Your<br />
suite comprises of a large lounge with a private bar, spacious bedroom and<br />
beautiful bathroom with tub and shower. Enjoy the stunning vistas from<br />
your private verandah overlooking the Siana Conservancy.

Our safaris and game drives are hosted by our Silver Certified Masai guides<br />
from the local community who have a vast knowledge of the flora and<br />
fauna of the Masai Mara ecosystem.<br />
While on a nature walk, learn about the traditional use of the herbs and<br />
shrubs growing in the natural surroundings. Later, witness the<br />
spectacular nocturnal theatre on a night game drive.<br />

Although bush walks and hiking tours in the Masai Mara Game Reserve are<br />
strictly prohibited, we offer our guests the exciting adventure of a walking<br />
safari in the Siana Conservancy. Feel, smell, hear and touch wild Africa. Our<br />
specially trained guides will ensure your safety at all times while explaining<br />
the traditional medicinal uses of different shrubs and trees, and the tracks<br />
and spoors of the animals, in the Siana Conservancy.<br />

For the light-headed traveller – hot air balloon safaris<br />
Early morning is the ideal time to see wild animals on the plains.<br />
Experience the crisp fresh air of the Masai Mara Game Reserve while silently<br />
floating above in a hot air balloon. After coffee and a flight briefing at dawn,<br />
the balloon lifts off taking you on a one hour flight with a spectacular bird’s<br />
eye view of the best East Africa has to offer. A champagne breakfast awaits<br />
to celebrate a memorable morning which is then followed by a game drive<br />
back to the lodge.

For the early birds – day game drives<br />
Enjoy the fresh breeze at the break of dawn and the bush coming to life in<br />
the early morning hours of the day. Our staff will give you a<br />
wake-up call while hot coffee and tea is already brewing. You can return<br />
to the lodge for breakfast after your morning safari or you can continue<br />
exploring the Masai Mara Game Reserve and the Siana Conservancy with<br />
a bush breakfast and picnic lunch to experience a have a full day in the<br />
African savannah.<br />
The Siana Conservancy offers our guests the utmost privacy and<br />
enjoyment whilst on exclusive game drives.
THE GREAT<br />
MIGRATION<br />
The incredible spectacle of the Great Wildebeest Migration, also referred to<br />
as one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of the World,” takes place from July<br />
to October. During that time, over two million wildebeest and zebra migrate<br />
from the Serengeti National Park to the greener pastures of the Masai Mara.<br />
Spirit of the Masai Mara offers you the opportunity to join us<br />
and witness this truly breathtaking event.

channel the socio-economic benefits<br />

SUSTAINABILITY
COMMUNITY<br />
A responsible and sustainable approach to tourism is key element in the<br />
ethos of Spirit of the Masai Mara. We proudly support community projects in<br />
the local area focusing on education, employment and livelihoods.<br />
Spirit of the Masai Mara recently coordinated funding to build classrooms<br />
at the Sekenani Secondary School, which was opened by the local Member<br />
of Parliament in April. We are currently raising funds to construct the<br />
next phase of dormitories and we encourage our guests to visit the local<br />
community as part of our 7 ST-EP programme.
