STARGAZERS BALL <strong>2016</strong> Red, White and Blue Bash Bull Valley County Club June 24, <strong>2016</strong> Tickets are $150 Stargazers Ball is Raue Center’s biggest gala fundraiser, raising over $40,000 each year to support Raue Center’s mission “to bring the arts to all.” Funds from Stargazers Ball will go directly to cornerstone programs such as Mission Imagination and Sage Studio, both of which provide arts education to young people in and around McHenry County. This year, Stargazers Ball moves out of the theatre and back to the country club for a very festive Red, White and Blue Bash! Attendees are encouraged to don the best in patriotic apparel to dance the night away at Bull Valley Country Club, all while supporting a vital arts organization. SPONSORED BY 28
JIM Peterik PART OF THE NATIONAL PIANO CONFERENCE AT RAUE CENTER June 25 @ 8p Tickets start at $27* No history of Chicago rock ‘n’ roll would be complete without a chapter on Jim Peterik. As lead vocalist, lead guitarist and songwriter for The Ides of March from 1964 to 1973, Peterik helped propel the band to the top of the national charts with the classic song “Vehicle.” Other Ides of March hits include “You Wouldn’t Listen” and “L.A. Goodbye.” In 1977, Peterik founded The Jim Peterik Band, which he later christened Survivor. Spanning nine albums from 1980 to 1993, Peterik was responsible for the keyboard work and some guitar work, as well as writing or co-writing all of Survivor’s material. The band’s greatest hits include: the triple platinum Grammy winner “Eye of the Tiger” (which Peterik co-produced), commissioned by Sylvester Stallone for “Rocky III;” the number one single from 1985, “The Search is Over,” and top ten singles “I Can’t Hold Back,” “Is This Love,” “High On You,” and the number one smash hit from “Rocky IV,” “Burning Heart.” The event is made possible in part by the generosity of Michael and Sue Costigan.
