Welcome<br />

By the close of business on Friday 18th July 2014, the total number of orders and<br />

commitments recorded at the Farnborough International Airshow reached US$204bn –<br />

a record for the show. These numbers not only reflect the general buoyancy of the global<br />

aviation market, but also reflect that exhibitors still choose FIA to announce their orders.<br />

For decades, FIA has been a global showcase for the aerospace industry and its reputation<br />

alone attracts a truly international audience. For manufacturers, it’s an opportunity to<br />

demonstrate their aircraft and engines to prospective customers, while for suppliers to the<br />

industry, having a presence at the show allows them to showcase their products and services<br />

to a targeted audience. For many, FIA is the only event they attend as it gives more access to<br />

quality visitors compared to attending other shows.<br />

As organisers of one of the world’s leading aerospace trade shows, we make every effort<br />

to facilitate business for our visitors and exhibitors. With dedicated zones in Space, UAS<br />

technology and the now popular Innovation Zone, we aim to provide exhibitors and visitors<br />

with more focussed networking. Additionally, our Meet-the-Buyer programme, our worldrenowned<br />

Civil and Military Delegations programme, Welcome Reception and conference<br />

programme all provide an opportunity to share knowledge, engage with colleagues and<br />

potential customers, and do business.<br />

Looking forward to FIA2016, we will be creating more opportunities for engagement for many<br />

of our core sectors. As well as the Space and UAS markets, we are providing forums for our<br />

MRO, Rotary and Manufacturing Technologies customers. Furthermore, we are looking to<br />

strengthen our Civil Delegations programme and provide more support for our SME customers<br />

who participate in the show.<br />

Operationally, we will continue to invest in the site infrastructure to ensure that the event<br />

remains a standard bearer as a global aviation event with state of the art facilities. FIA2014<br />

saw the development on new permanent Row A Chalets and we are delighted to announce<br />

that at the 2016 event, we will have plans available for the new permanent Hall 1/1A structure<br />

which will be in place for 2018.<br />

Mainframe manufacturers choose the<br />

Farnborough International Airshow to<br />

showcase their military and commercial<br />

aircraft. FIA has a strong history of<br />

firsts from the premier of the Vickers<br />

V-Bombers in 1951, the Concord flypast in<br />

1971 to both the Airbus A380 and Boeing’s<br />

UAS ZONE<br />

Unmanned and autonomous vehicles are evolving rapidly, and over the<br />

next decade UAV spending will be more than double from $5.2 billion to<br />

$11.6 billion, totalling just over $89 billion in the next 10 years. The UAS<br />

Zone at the Farnborough International Airshow will provide a location<br />

to not only showcase the latest technological advances, but provide an<br />

open forum for debate and issues regarding some of the regulatory and<br />

ethical issues surrounding the adoption of the technology. At FIA2014,<br />

Located within the main aircraft display area, the BAP is easily<br />

accessible from the centre of the main exhibition and will continue<br />

to accommodate requests for demonstration flights to potential and<br />

existing customers.<br />

Flexible exhibiting options exist for participation within the BAP<br />

with three or seven day packages.<br />

STATIC AIRCRAFT DISPLAYS<br />

The natural amphitheatre at the Farnborough Aerodrome allows<br />

aircraft to be exhibited to maximum effect in our extensive static<br />

aircraft park. Running in parallel to the exhibition, the static display<br />

gives visitors the opportunity to view the aircraft close up. Aircraft<br />

participating in the flying display can be shown to visitors prior to<br />

flying, or based on the north side of the aerodrome and visited under<br />

Outdoor sites can accommodate larger exhibits, outdoor equipment or<br />

bespoke feature areas.<br />

Outdoor Area for Exhibits<br />

Display your large equipment, aircraft mock-ups, ground support<br />

vehicles or any exhibit that is more suited to an outdoor environment.<br />

Spaces start from 15 sq m.<br />

Area for Exhibitor Supplied Buildings<br />

Single and double storey structures, supplied by the exhibiting<br />

company, can be accommodated in certain outdoor locations.<br />

BUSINESS CHALETS<br />

Business chalets are private hospitality units where you can host<br />

clients and business associates. We provide the structure, leaving you<br />

to appoint your dedicated contractor to fit out the chalet to your own<br />

specifications. Chalets are available in single-storey and two-storey<br />

configurations and can be purchased in multiple units. Entertain<br />

your clients on the private outside balcony where they can enjoy<br />

unobstructed views of the flying display.<br />

FLYING DISPLAY<br />

The daily flying display is a fundamental part of the exhibition.<br />

The display showcases the most advanced aircraft in both<br />

commercial and military design.<br />

Consistent with Farnborough International Airshow’s business<br />

role, the flying display takes place during the afternoon, leaving<br />

the morning and lunch period free for business activity. The wellstructured<br />

display provides a valuable presentation in which you<br />

can demonstrate the capabilities of your products, enhanced by<br />

an illustrative commentary broadcast across the exhibition site.<br />

CUSTOMER DEMONSTRATION FLIGHTS<br />

To enable aircraft exhibitors to provide potential customers with<br />

the opportunity to appreciate the qualities of their product in the<br />

air, it is possible for them to arrange customer demonstration<br />

flights. Customer demonstration flights by fixed wing aircraft can<br />

be arranged on trade days, Monday to Friday, but not during the<br />

period of the flying display.<br />

Customer demonstration flights by helicopters can be operated<br />

from the Heliport, by arrangement with the Heliport Operator.<br />

At FIA you do not have to pay any of the following hidden extras:<br />

BUSINESS CHALETS - CHALET ROW A<br />

The introduction of the new permanent buildings on Chalet Row A saw<br />

the successful completion of Phase 1 of FIA’s wider commitment to site<br />

developments. These new permanent buildings offer the flexibility of<br />

leaving your interior fit-out in place for future editions. This can be a<br />

cost effective option for business chalets long term.<br />

BUSINESS AIRCRAFT PARK<br />

The Business Aircraft Park (BAP) is an area devoted to business<br />

aircraft manufacturers, their products and services. The BAP is now<br />

an integral part of the overall show and contributes significantly to<br />

the billions of dollars of business that is done across the trade week.<br />

E-Net is your online exhibition resource portal which has been<br />

designed to assist you plan, build and manage your exhibit and help<br />

you with everything you need for your participation at FIA2016.<br />

Your e-net account also allows you to arrange meetings with other<br />

exhibitors participating at the show. Simply search for the company,<br />

suggest a meeting date and time and reason and submit your request.<br />

MEDIA CENTRE<br />

The Media Centre is a vital resource for exhibitors to make press<br />

announcements and host press conferences. It’s the hub for the<br />

thousands of media that attend the event including national<br />

and international television broadcasting outlets, national and<br />

international newspapers, trade journals and show dailies.<br />

PRESS CONFERENCE ROOMS<br />

The Media Centre boasts 4 large conference facilities including<br />

seating for up to 200 people, basic AV equipment and AV technical<br />

support. Additional equipment and furniture can be hired, simply<br />

ask at the media centre reception desk.<br />

LITERATURE RACKS<br />

Literature racks are also available to hire for the duration of the show<br />

allowing you to place any corporate and press information within<br />

easy reach.<br />

EXHIBITOR PRESS RELEASES<br />

New in 2014, you can now upload your company press releases to our<br />

digital press box which will be available to view via our website and<br />

your exhibitor listing.<br />

EVENTS DIARY<br />

The Media Centre manages a diary of exhibitor press conferences and<br />

events on behalf of all exhibitors to provide to journalists. Please be sure to<br />

provide details of your event in advance to the FIA communications team.<br />

MEDIA PRESS LISTS<br />

As an exhibitor, you are entitled to receive a full list of all accredited<br />

media that have opted-in to receive communications from third parties.<br />

about the show, our exhibitors and the aviation industry. We have an ever<br />

growing audience of over 19k followers, many of whom use the hashtag<br />

Give your company online presence via our website. Its simple search<br />

facility allows visitors to look for companies by product category and<br />

country location and allows them to make meeting requests.<br />

OFFICIAL CONTRACTORS TO FIA<br />

Each and every show cycle, the Operations team undertake a rigorous<br />

process of re-evaluating all contracts and official contractors to ensure<br />

FIA’s Exhibitors receive only the very best services that are available.<br />

Each new contract is reviewed by a panel and vetted and existing<br />

multi-show contracts are reviewed to ensure they are still fit for purpose.<br />

We understand that exhibiting at FIA is a big investment and those allimportant<br />

service providers are what can make or break the experience<br />

for those managing and building stands or chalets. So, with this in mind,<br />

we engage only with those companies that have a wealth of knowledge<br />

within the industry, experienced teams and all at competitive prices.<br />

There are undoubtedly huge benefits from using official contractors<br />

at FIA, and we would encourage all participants to use these services<br />

for a smooth, hassle free experience. All individual services providers<br />

have dedicated teams, who know the exhibition site and are on hand<br />

to manage any situation. Most official contractors have on-site offices<br />

through the build and show periods to allow easy job fulfilment and<br />

peace of mind for participants. In addition, participants will benefit from<br />
