Objectives<br />
Recodrive brings toge<strong>the</strong>r eco-driving, good management practices and <strong>the</strong> efficient use of logistics in a<br />
bid to make fuel savings of more than 10% for vehicle fleets.<br />
The project will train energy c<strong>on</strong>sumpti<strong>on</strong> champi<strong>on</strong>s who will work with fleet vehicle buyers and<br />
maintenance staff. They will also m<strong>on</strong>itor <strong>the</strong> way eco-driving techniques are applied. In additi<strong>on</strong>, an<br />
auditing system will be established to check <strong>the</strong> energy efficiency of fleet operati<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
Policy guidelines will be developed in order to support fleet owners who set up schemes to reward and<br />
recognise <strong>the</strong> fuel saving efforts of <strong>the</strong>ir drivers and procurement and maintenance staff.<br />
Results<br />
The project is <strong>on</strong>going, but outcomes will include:<br />
> Developing a multilingual project website.<br />
> Establishing a support desk for fleet owners and providing tools to aid driver training and<br />
<strong>the</strong> procurement of <strong>on</strong>-board and fuel management devices.<br />
> Raising awareness of sustainable fleet management issues am<strong>on</strong>g managers and o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
stakeholders.<br />
> Presenting tried-and-tested reward and recogniti<strong>on</strong> schemes to commercial fleet owners.<br />
> Producing and publishing a reference manual.<br />
