Here at LS2 we think of safety, design and functionality when designing our range.
The creation of a new helmet is a very specialized affair taking in many different
areas of technology.
Our designers, engineers and technicians are all passionate about motorcycling
and when designing and producing a new helmet they use this knowledge and passion
to create a range of helmets which are better than the last.
LS2: TECHNOLOGY FOR ALL
Here at LS2 we look at the needs of the market every day and we are always searching
for new technology to incorporate into our products.
We still however maintain our principal of making such technology affordable for
the greatest number of riders. Therefore each helmet we produce benefits from
this work ethic making each helmet functional for those who ride everyday.

Once a shell has been removed from
its mold it is checked to make sure it

ASSEMBLY
Each LS2 helmet, in fiberglass, composite
or polycarbonate is composed of three
main elements, the external shell, shock
absorbing EPS liner and the numerous accessories
such as comfort linings, method
of retention, visors and ventilation.
The three main methods of production
are as follows:
Polycarbonate injected in a mix utilizing
an exclusive process developed by our
researchers named HPTT (High Pressure
Thermoplastic Technology).
This high precision industrial process utilizes
moulds sculpted from blocks of metal
weighing several 100 kilos.
Composite fibers, combined with polymer
resin which provide high abrasion resistance
and are very difficult to penetrate.
Carbon Fiber in multiple layers are also
mixed with polymer resin. This procedure
involves a process where the molds must
be able to resist temperatures in excess
of 120ºC.

Several layers of paint later and the
graphics are applied, once in place the
helmet is lacquered with anti UV and
the process gives a unique touch to
each helmet.
PRECISION
ASSEMBLY
The final assembly of a helmet is then
undertaken by a technician who follows
a strict process for fitting of the EPS
liner, retention strap and visor mechanism.
And finally the comfort liner and
user instructions. Each helmet then has
a final quality check before being boxed
ready for dispatch.
PERMANENT
QUALITY CONTROL
A certain number of our helmets are never
sold as we batch test every model in
our test laboratory. Each helmet is looked
at in minute detail to ensure that quality
and safety are paramount. We also verify
that each model meets or exceeds the
test standard required by its country of
destination. This may be ECE, DOT ,BSI
PRODUCTION 7

or indeed SNELL. Numerous tests are
undertaken on the EPS and the external
shell for shock absorbtion. We also test
the fit as many testing houses now take
this into account. For example SHARP
TEST in the UK.

COMPOSITION
Carbon Fiber
LS2 uses multiple layers of our exclusive wide-weave carbon
fiber for a very light, but strong shell that handles impacts while
dispersing energy for a safer ride.
KPA
A proprietary blend of polycarbonate, space age thermoplastics
and additional materials specifically formulated by LS2,
KPA: Kinetic Polymer Alloy, offers ultra-light weight and high
penetration resistance, but with some flexibility for the ultimate
in energy dispersion. This special formula meets both ECE 22.05
and DOT requirements.
HPFC
High Performance Fiberglass Composite is a carefully layered
blend of an unique fiberglass weave and organic resin into a
strong, ultra-light weight, but rigid shell that accepts an impact
while dispersing energy for a safer ride.

In our search for the ultimate in fog resistant materials,
LS2 has developed the new Fog Fighter System.
An innovative inner lens attaches to our optically correct
visors, making what is essentially a dual-pane system. This
inner lens is made using our Fog Fighter process for maximum
fog resistance and a pleasurable ride.

OPTIMAL VISION
LS2 are aware of the need for optimal
vision for all riding conditions. Therefore
most of our helmets are available
with an integral sun visor.
This coupled with the optically correct
external visor ensures 100% vision in
all light conditions.
AERODYNAMICS
Here at LS2 the design of our external
shells integrates several aerodynamic
principals. Stability, ventilation and anti
misting, all of which are important in
creating a quality functional product
with reduced noise levels.
RIDER’S TESTING
In the end we test all our helmets out
on the road in all conditions over thousands
of kilometres.

using no tools other than your hands. Built-in spring
retention ensures a snug fit with no air gaps when

The metal buckle attaches to a high
quality safety strap. On the other strap
is a ribbed plastic tab. Insert the ribbed
plastic tab into the metal buckle. You’ll
hear a light “clicking” sound.
Continue to slide it until you get a comfortable,
snug fit. Pull the ribbon on the
lever to release. For additional initial
adjustment, use the metal slider buckle
on the strap with the ribbed plastic tab to
take up excess strap.
Our emergency release system
allows emergency responders to
remove the cheek pads from the
helmet, allowing extra space to
remove the helmet with minimal
movement of a fallen rider’s head
and neck. It is best to have someone
hold the helmet to keep it from
moving as you remove the pads.
Slide your finger into the red loop
and pull carefully, slipping the
pads free. Slide the cheek pads
over the straps and pull them
away from the helmet.

for a secure fit. Slide
the strap through BOTH
D-rings, and then wrap it
over the first and through
the second. Pull the strap
until you have a snug fit

This small metal triangle is
an LS2 exclusive feature and
reinforces the attachment of
our chinstraps to the shell for
extra strength.
To increase rider safety
at night or in low visibility
conditions the neck roll has
a reflective safety patch that
glows in the light of other
vehicle’s headlights.

LS2’s drop-down sun shield helps portect the rider’s eyes from
bright sun, and moves up and out of the way quickly and easily
when entering dark tunnels, offering a more comfortable
riding experience.
VENTILATION
LS2 helmets feature a Dynamic Flow- through Ventilation. Fully adjustable intake ports and vented EPS
work with the rear spoiler and exhaust ports to create a constant, light flow of air helping to keep the
rider cool and comfortable.
