Sawasdee Kap and welcome to ‘City of
Angels Old Timer’s Classic International
Ice Hockey Tournament. We are all very
excited to be your hosts this year once
again and we hope that your experiences
here will be nothing less than memorable.
We understand that many of you have
questions about this tournament and the new ice arena so JOG Sports has
put together an informational package for you to review before your
departure or if you are in Bangkok already you can enjoy reading at the
beach!
Team Registration- Look for the Check-in booth near the entrance
All teams must check in before their first game. All waiver forms must be signed one
per team, and rosters updated. You must present an id to verify your age NO
EXCECPTIONS.
Each player will be given a Player Pass. DO NOT LOSE THE PASS as it is needed for
the banquet, and at the bars that are offering discounts.
Locker Rooms
There will be 4 locker rooms so please refrain from dressing in the stands or
outside.
Locker Room schedules will be posted on the JOG Informational Board which will
also feature the schedule, scores, and locker room assignments.
** Please keep all locker rooms clean and designate one player from your team to pick up
before the next team comes in ** If any damage is caused the player must take
responsibility thank you. There are cameras all around the rink for security.
Storage Facilities for All Players
The storage room will be located just inside the rink. The rooms will be locked at all
times and if you need a key please contact one of JOG’s staff. We recommend to just store
your bags (keep closed) there to prevent any chance of losing any of your items. Please
contact us at the rink for more information thank you.

City of Angel’s Old Timer’s Classic Tournament FAQ’s
1. Is the rink a regular size ice surface?
A: Yes the rink is a regular size ice surface. The rink is an NHL Size rink with glass around and
player’s benches.
2. How far is the rink from downtown Bangkok/Hotel area?
A: The ice rinks location is about thirty minutes from downtown Bangkok ( Sukhumvit area).
Please allow yourself at least 45 minutes to get to the ice rink if you go by taxi. If you go by
train from downtown it is about 15-20 minutes.
3. What is the best way to get to the Rink Grand Central Rama IX?
A: The best way to the ice rink is to take MRT line which you can access from the BTS stop
Asoke. The MRT line is the underground subway. The BTS stop Asoke/MRT stop is called
Sukhumvit and takes the subway two stops until Phra Ram IX. Please see the map below.
4. Will there be water available for our team during the games?
A: Yes all water will be provided for the teams throughout the tournament during your team
game times.
5. What is available at the mall?
A: The shopping center has many restaurants such as KFC, Starbucks, McDonalds, lots of
Japanese restaurants and a wonderful food court. Starbucks sis on the ground floor and the
food court etc. is on the 6 th floor plus other restaurants on the 7 th floor. B: Movie Theater on
the 7 th floor C: Fitness First on the 7 th floor D: There is also many massages and soapy
massages in the area.
6: Does the ice rink have a Pro Shop?
A: The rink will have a skate sharpener and a make shift pro shop as the shop will not be
completed in time for the tournament.
7. Will there be any food or coffee etc. available at the rink?
A: The rink has a very nice restaurant/bar. All kinds of food will be available, coffee, beer,
hard liquor and wine.

CITY OF ANGELS OLD TIMER’S ICE HOCKEY CLASSIC 2012 TOURNAMENT RULES
T
he Referee-in-Chief has the right to rule on any matter regarding the tournament. This
includes on-ice and any misconduct inside the arena. All incidents will be reviewed by the
Tournament Director and Referee-in-Chief. The incident will be reviewed and made before the
player’s next game.
1. All teams must sign a waiver form and also submit their rosters before the tournament begins.
2. Teams will play a minimum of 4 games.
3. Points will be awarded as follows:
� 2 points for a regulation win
� 1 point for a tie or overtime loss
� 0 points for regulation loss
4. Round robin play will consist of (3) 13-minute periods. Warm ups are 4 minutes. In between
periods we will have 1-minute break. If there is a 2 goal difference with TWO minute remaining stop
time will apply.
� If the game ends in a tie there will be a three minute overtime 4 on 4. Last 30 seconds stop
time. Goalies will not change ends.
� One timeout during round robin play (including overtime one total) and one time-out
allowed for the playoffs too.
� The netting above the glass is considered out of play if the pucks hits the nest.
� The center red line will not be in play during the tournament.
� Icing is from behind the blue line, no center line will be used
� Delayed off-sides are in effect, (the attacking team can clear the zone to clear a delayed offside)
� No body contact is allowed. Slap shots are allowed. When a shot hits the goalie’s mask the
referee will automatically stop play.
� No players may play on two different teams in same conference unless the Referee-in-Chief
approves. If a player chooses to play in two different conferences it will be allowed (however
Referee-in-Chief and Tournament Director will monitor so called “Ringers” in the
Recreational Division which will not be allowed)
5. Penalties for all teams in Round Robin Play and Playoffs
� 3 minute minor penalty
� 5 minute major penalty
� 10 minute misconduct
Any major for fighting will result in ejection from the tournament Any high sticking infraction
that draws blood (accidental or not) result in a major penalty and a game misconduct. This is an
automatic call for the referees. *Note Referee-in-Chief will review all incidents and may over-turn the
game misconduct If ANY 3- infractions i.e.-(high-stick, slashing, cross-checking etc.) have been
assessed to any one player, that player will receive an automatic game ejection for the remainder of
that game. Any major for fighting will result in ejection from the tournament Any high sticking

6. Suspensions- All suspensions are at the discretion of the Referee-In-Chief. The Captain will be
notified as to the player’s suspension by the referee at the end of the game or before the player’s
next game. Any team playing with a player that has not satisfied his/her suspension infraction will
forfeit all games from the point of the original suspension.
7. All Major penalties will result in the player receiving an automatic game misconduct and game
suspension for their next game. Upon review of the incident by the Referee-in-Chief, more games
may be assessed.
8. Teams will qualify for playoffs based on total points in seeding play. In the case of a tie in the
standings, the tie breaker procedures are as follows:
Points (2 points for a win)
Most wins
Head to Head record
Goals against (least)
Least penalty minutes
Goal Differential
Goals For
9. All of the Playoff games will consist of (3) 13-minute periods. Warm up 4 minutes. The last two
minutes will be stop time with a 2-goal differential.
� If the game ends in a tie there will be a 4 minute 4 on 4 sudden death period for all playoffgames
and Championship games.
� If the game is still tied the Wild Card, Quarters, and Semi’s Finals will go to a 3 man shoot
out. No player shall shoot twice until everyone who is eligible has shot.
� Each team will be given 3 shots, unless the outcome is determined earlier in the shootout, if
tied after 3, the shootout will proceed to a single elimination sudden death format.
� A coin toss will determine who shoots first (winner of coin toss get choice when to shoot)
� In the Championship game we will add a 3 on 3, 3-minute sudden death overtime, before
the shootout.
� One time out is allowed in the playoffs (30 seconds)
**No verbal abuse towards the referees will be tolerated. The only players on the ice who are
allowed to speak with the officials will be the Captains or Assistant Captains. Please note verbal
abuse towards the referee may result in a penalty and if severe suspension. **
JOG Sports encourages the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship.

The best way to get to rink from your hotel if you’re staying on Sukumvit road is to go to the Asoke BTS station. From here go to the MRT located right next to Asoke
station or next to the mall Terminal 21. The MRT station you will start at is called the Sukhimvit line and you want to go towards Bang Sue but get off at the Phra Ram 9
station to get to the rink. The rink is located right at the Phra Ram 9 station. All you have to do is exit and you will be inside the mall.
Important note:
The “Rink” Grand Central Plaza Rama IX is located at Phra Ram 9 station on the MRT Line
The Grand Mercure Hotel is located at Phra Ram 9 station on the MRT Line.
The Amari Blvd. is located at the Nana BTS Station.
