i always have start slowly<br />
and build up my confidence<br />
on the water during the years.<br />
freestyle kayaking has helped<br />
me in getting a very solid roll<br />
and being fairly relaxed when<br />
i get trashed in a nasty hole<br />
on the river. i also think it is<br />
important for women starting<br />
out to learn to read water and<br />
know your own ability.<br />
Was that the scariest stretch of river you’ve ever paddled?<br />
whitewater-wise i’m not sure,<br />
as most of the rapids aren’t super<br />
technical and i think i’m more<br />
scared of getting hurt on a 70ft<br />
waterfall. but having the whole<br />
aspect of crocodiles and hippos<br />
ready to eat you and no room for<br />
mistakes definitely made it a lot<br />
more challenging.<br />
