Kritamo is a plant known since antiquity for its curative<br />

nature, as well as for its distinctive flavor. It contains<br />

nutrients such as iodine, vitamin E - C, and minerals.<br />

Furthermore, it is rich in high quality antioxidants and<br />

omega-3 fatty acids. Kritamo stimulates skin renewal, it<br />

is beneficial for liver and kidney dysfunctions and it has<br />

also got aphrodisiac properties. It is an ideal meze for<br />

ouzo and may accompany fish and seafood perfectly. It<br />

is served in Greek salad and with boiled vegetables<br />

giving fragrances and essential oils. It can be combined<br />

with crispbread, feta cheese, graviera cheese,<br />

omelettes, as well as with chickpeas, lentils and beans,<br />

or simply on its own as cold salad. In an exhibition that<br />

took place in Plauen, Germany, Greek kritamo won the<br />

first natural product prize.
