Dear Sisters and Foundation Friends,
The 2007 - 2009 biennium has seen exciting initiatives become reality. During the past year the
Foundation Board partnered with the Fraternity and Properties Boards for the first time in a joint
strategic planning process that brings all three organizations together in a shared vision. This
collaboration is continuing, with leadership working in unison for the greater good as one AOII.
As part of the strategic plan, the Foundation adopted a new mission statement that describes who we
are and illustrates what we do: Securing the Future. Three short but powerful words remind us of our
purpose within AOII.
The AOII Foundation had a record year for giving back:
The total amount given back for AOII scholarships, Ruby Fund grants, educational
grants and arthritis grants is $315,218.
You’ll read for yourselves elsewhere in this report and in other issues of To Dragma about all the good
works of the Foundation. So, I want simply to thank each and every one of you for making these
good works possible and for making a difference.
In the way you live ritual every day, in the
unconditional kindness you show your AOII
family and those in need, in the support you
give back through sharing the joys as well
as the sorrows, through your membership,
volunteer service and financial gifts, in all
that you do and are as an Alpha Omicron
Pi….. you touch the lives of everyone
around you.
It has been a privilege and a true pleasure
to lead the Foundation this biennium. I look
forward to seeing you at the 2009 Convention
in Tampa.

Dear Sisters,
I want to applaud the alcohol program for AOII. It is unfortunate that most girls in college think
that binge drinking is ok…it is not. I am one of those girls who made myself sick through alcohol abuse in
college…….I wasted so much time and my health was affected……I have recovered and now live an alcohol
free life. I wanted to share my story and pray that it can encourage you to continue to support this program.
