Dear Parents,
The first day of school can be exciting and
emotional for both you and your child.
Parents often ask what they can do to help
prepare their child for school. As simple as
it may seem, your child will take their cue
from you.
The best thing a parent can do is to be
confident and positive about the school
experience. The more confident you are
about the quality of the school and the
teachers, the more comfortable you will feel
about separation.
Having adequate information about what
your child is doing during the day is key to
coping. This book helps you and your child
become familiar with the routine of the day
and the excitement that comes from being
with friends throughout the experience.

Remember, the staff are well trained in the
best practices in helping children settle and
feel safe and comfortable in their new
environment.
Demonstrate your confidence as you leave
your child, with a smile and hug, and
reassurance that they will have a great day
with their new friends.
