Asian <strong>Basketball</strong> Confederation Championship held at Chinese Taipei,<br />

TAWIAN from 21 st to 30 th December, <strong>2002</strong>. <strong>India</strong> secured <strong>the</strong> 7 th place in<br />

<strong>the</strong> Championship. The team comprised <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following Players and<br />

<strong>2002</strong> and <strong>the</strong> entire expenses were borne by <strong>the</strong> BFI.<br />

4. Punjab Police, Jalandhar, <strong>the</strong> Champion team <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Federation</strong> Cup<br />

Championship Qualified from <strong>the</strong> Middle Asia Zone and took part in <strong>the</strong><br />

13 th ABC Champions Cup at Kuala Lumpur from 29 th April to 5 th May,<br />

<strong>2002</strong>.<br />

III FIBA/ ABC Referee’s Clinic : A Clinic <strong>for</strong> FIBA/ ABC Referees was<br />

organized by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Federation</strong> on 2 nd and 3 rd December, <strong>2002</strong> at I.G. Indoor<br />

Stadium, New Delhi. Mr. Lubomir Koteleba conducted <strong>the</strong> Clinic in which 34<br />

Referees <strong>of</strong> middle Asia zone attended <strong>the</strong> Clinic and appeared <strong>for</strong> licence<br />

renewal and inclusion in FIBA Panel. The following Referees from <strong>India</strong> qualified<br />

<strong>for</strong> inclusion in FIBA Panel :-<br />

any participating Referee.<br />

IV NATIONAL ZONAL COACHING CAMP<br />

Zonal Coaching Camps <strong>for</strong> Junior Boys and Girls were organized at New Delhi<br />

from 1 st to 18 th June, <strong>2002</strong> in which 92 selected players were imparted Coaching<br />

under <strong>the</strong> guidance <strong>of</strong> 13 Coaches. The BFI bore all <strong>the</strong> expenses. Zone wise<br />

competition was conducted during <strong>the</strong> Championships <strong>for</strong> Junior Men and<br />

Women.


The National Zonal Coaching Camps <strong>for</strong> Sub-Junior Boys and Girls were<br />

conducted from 1 st to 18 th August, <strong>2002</strong> at <strong>the</strong> following venues :<br />

East Zone : R.G. Barua Sports Complex - Guwahati with<br />

<strong>the</strong> support <strong>of</strong> Assam <strong>Basketball</strong> Association.<br />

South Zone : Pondicherry Engineering College with <strong>the</strong><br />

support <strong>of</strong> Association.<br />

North and West Zone : Fr. Agnel Technical Institute, Navi Mumbai with<br />

<strong>the</strong> support and co-operation <strong>of</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>r Orlando<br />

Rodrigues and Mr. M. Venkatesh.<br />
