Welcome to the Purbeck Art Weeks Festival 2016!
There’s something for everyone in our Festival - from fine art to
fine music, creative art by young people in Purbeck schools and
inspiring community art projects. ‘Midsummer Dreams’ is this
year’s theme - and the two week Festival offers a full, exciting and
creative programme of art and evening events for you to explore.
This brochure will help you plan your open studio visits and tells
you all you need to know about what is happening during the
Festival.
Over 100 artists are taking part, with some 30 artists new to PAW
this year whose artistic individualism brings ever more variety to
the work you will be able to see and enjoy. Start with a visit to our
showcase exhibition at Rollington Barn where you can plan your
art trail – and if you would like to win some art work pick up your
competition postcard there or at any of the studios and events
you visit and follow the simple instructions – you could win!
An inspiring range of evening events is on offer. These include
a number of superb concerts by internationally acclaimed vocal
and instrumental performers and some fascinating illustrated
talks. Further details are in this brochure and in the Festival Events
Programme available in the Tourist Offices in Wareham and
Swanage, Rollington and selected shops.
Don’t forget to look out for the best ‘Midsummer Dreams’ shop
window display and vote for your favourite on-line. And, if you
