In Memory Of
Gerald “Jerry” W. Bunker,
70, of Ashland passed away on
April 28 after a long battle with
cancer. Bunker was a firefighter
in town from 1978 through
1991. In addition, he worked
as a building contractor and
owned and operated Bunker
Excavation Co. in Ashland. He
had a passion for old Farmall
tractors having restored several
and served as the president of
the International Harvester
Collector’s Club New England
Chapter 18. Bunker served his
country honorably with the
Coast Guard during the Vietnam
War receiving two Bronze
Stars. According to Fire Chief
Scott Boothby, “Jerry was well

skilled nursing care, the facility
is licensed for Medicare and
Medicaid. Also included in the
building design are two 39-bed
long-term care units for residents
who are no longer able
to manage in the community.
Later this year, Waterview
Lodge plans to provide a dementia
care unit for those suffering
from Alzheimer’s disease
or related dementias. The unit
will feature a sensory room designed
to promote a feeling of
safety, reduce tension and provide
one-on-one therapeutic
activities.
