IRISH AGRIBUSINESS IN NEW ZEALAND
The agricultural sector in New Zealand is one of the strongest and
most vibrant in the world. As an export focussed economy this industry
has led the way in its ability to use technology to grow and to stay
competitive. New Zealand shares with Ireland a strong historical
connection, innumerable social and cultural ties and, in many cases,
deep personal connections. It is little wonder then that so many Irish
businesses are attracted to New Zealand and continue on to succeed
and flourish in the New Zealand marketplace.
This year, I am delighted to welcome Invest Northern Ireland, who have
brought a delegation of 6 companies and will be participating with us
at Fieldays. I have no doubt that these companies will provide value in
the New Zealand market, now and in years to come.
2016 marks 10 years of collaboration between Enterprise Ireland and
the New Zealand National Fieldays Society. This strong partnership
has allowed countless companies from both countries to meet and do
business.
In this booklet, we showcase Ireland’s most innovative Agribusiness
companies – 22 of which will either have a presence on the Ireland
National Stand or are displaying their products independently or with
local partners at Fieldays this Year.
May I take this opportunity to thank the New Zealand National Fieldays
Society for their tireless work, and I wish exhibitors and visitors alike a
very successful Fieldays.
Mary Kinnane
Director Australia/New Zealand
GrazeMate Drover
Eazi Fence Stake
Eazi Fence Bracket
PROFILE
GrazeMate Drover is a new labour saving device
for the dairy industry. It is essentially a portable
security barrier which is placed at the entrance
to a paddock. The barrier, which is electrified, is
raised and lowered by timer or remotely from a
mobile phone.
This saves the farmer the trouble of walking to
pasture before and after milking, a task that is
carried out twice a day seven days a week all
year round. Aptly named GrazeMate Drover, this
innovative device has the capability to change
the way dairy farmers organize and save their
valuable time before and after milkings.
PROFILE
The Samco System was established in Ireland
in 1997 by Samuel Shine. Samuel developed
the machine to guarantee local farmers a crop
of quality forage maize in a cool, less than
favorable climate for maize corn growing.
The Samco System involves the use of a 3-in-1
machine that sows Maize Corn Seed, sprays a
pre-emergence herbicide on the soil and lays
a thin layer of degradable film over the soil,
increasing air and ground temperature and
protecting the young seedling from adverse
weather and late frosts. The Samco System
can be used in a range of climatic conditions
depending on the customer’s requirements.
Samco is not only a machine manufacturer
they also manufacture the degradable film for
their system. Many trials are carried out each
year worldwide in conjunction with seed and
herbicide companies to deliver the highest
performing products for our growers.
PRODUCTS
Bale Wrapper Specialists
Bale Handling Equipment
PROFILE
Tanco are proud to introduce the VariWrap
& AutoWrap Round Bale Wrapping System.
These innovative systems are borne out of
the aim of simplifying and eliminating waste
within the current wrapping processes. The
result is a consolidated range that has two
distinct categories of users. The VariWrap
for Professional Contract Customers and
the AutoWrap for Individual Farmers/Semi-
Contractor Customers. The needs of both user
groups are different but both have the same
compelling requirement for quality, reliability
and user friendliness.
There is a further product category within the
VariWrap and AutoWrap ranges, namely the S
- Series and the L - Series. The wrappers can
be adapted to any user’s requirements. The S
- Series is a direct upgrade to the very popular
Tanco 1320 Series and the L - Series is an entirely
reimagined approach to handling bales which
results in a reduction of loading mechanical
stresses on the machine and greater comfort
for the operator.
