THE LIZARD PENINSULA
the most southerly part of the British
mainland, is a place apart. A combination
of the mild maritime climate and complex
and unique geology has produced an area
with a distinctive character. Take a long
walk along the beach and take in the
breathtaking views, seals basking in the
sunshine and listen out for the call of the
Cornish Chough bird. A couple of miles
along the road is Cadgwith and quaint
little fishing village with a pebbled beach
dotted with colourful boats. Pop in for
some Cornish icecream you are sure to
love it.
Minack Theatre is an open-air theatre
dramatically situated on the cliffs at
Porthcumo, near Land’s End, and hosts
a season of plays and musicals from May
to September. This is an awesome way
to go to the theatre. Visit during the day
and take in the breathtaking views plus
the café serves a fantastic Cornish cream
tea. It does get cold at night, even in the
summer so take plenty of layers.
