Satellite Communications
Inflatable antennas help Cubic Global Defense
serve military, Middle East markets
May was a productive month for
Cubic Global Defense.
The company started off the month
showcasing some of the C4ISR
technology it acquired through the
recent purchases of DTECH Labs,
GATR Technologies and TeraLogics
at the biennial Special Operations
Forces Exhibition and Conference
in Jordan. C4ISR stands for Command,
Control, Communications,
Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance
and Reconnaissance.
Among the products and solutions
marketed at SOFEX included
a mobile Internet solution featuring
end-to-end full motion video and
satellite communications management
that works with essentially
every combat net radio system.
GATR’s portable antenna works as
effectively as its more rigid counterparts,
but at a mere fraction of
the weight. The 85 percent weight
reduction gives it an edge over its
competitors in the government and
commercial markets.
It’s all a part of the company’s
“training to tactical” strategy to
serve its Middle East market, said
John Naff, who serves as the general
manager for Cubic Defense Saudi
Arabia and as the business development
vice president for Cubic Global
Defense.
“These comprehensive capabilities
will provide enhanced flexibility
for not only ground and air training
systems, but also tactical communi-
