philanthropist. She’s the couple<br />
of Gerard Piqué, an Spanish<br />
soccer player, with which she<br />
has two children, Milan and<br />
Sasha.<br />

awarded and the third in<br />
the history.<br />
She has already won two<br />
Grammy Awards, six Billboard<br />
Music Awards, four American<br />

“vallenato” and “cumbia” with<br />
pop and rock. He has won two<br />
Grammy Awards and he´s nine<br />
times winner of the Latin<br />
Grammy Awards.<br />

biggest number of<br />
nominations in the Latin<br />
Grammy. He also was the first<br />
Colombian artist nominated<br />
to a Grammy Award of the<br />
American Academy.<br />
His best-known songs are “Volví a nacer”, “Fruta fresca”, “La tierra del<br />
olvido” and others.<br />
He was married to Margarita Rosa de Francisco, their love lasted only two<br />
years; but in 1990, he met Herlinda Gómez, the woman that years later<br />
became the mother of his two beloved children. Let me tell you people that<br />
Colombia is so proud of this man; he has shown to the entire world the<br />
amazing talent that we have in Colombia.

Vásquez was born in<br />
August 9th, 1972 in<br />
Medellin, Antioquia.<br />
He’s married with Karen<br />
Martínez, a Colombian<br />
actress, who also is the<br />
mother of his 3 children.<br />
When he was a child, his<br />
father and siblings<br />
taught him to play the<br />
guitar. His artistic name<br />
is the match of his first<br />
name and the first<br />
syllable of his second<br />
name.<br />
At 15 age, he started his<br />
musical career with a<br />
band called<br />
“Ekhymosis”, he<br />
obtained with them<br />
recognition in the rock scene.<br />
In 1999, he goes to Miami looking for a musical producer for his album as a<br />
soloist. There he met Gustavo Santaolalla and Fernán Martínez, his manager.<br />
Many of his songs has sounded all over the world, such as “Volverte a ver”,<br />
“Para tu amor”, “A Dios le pido”, “La camisa negra”, “La Tierra”, among<br />
others.<br />
He has won 21 Latin Grammy Awards and 2 Grammy Awards, among others.<br />

Diomedes Díaz Maestre<br />
was born in La junta, San<br />
juan del Cesar in May<br />
26th, 1957 and he died in<br />
Valledupar in December<br />
22th, 2013. He was a<br />
singer and songwriter of<br />
“música vallenata”; his<br />
nickname was “El<br />
Cacique de la Junta”. His<br />
life was marked by ups<br />
and downs and problems<br />
with the law.<br />
His fame crossed the<br />
entire continent from<br />
Colombia to USA and<br />
even Europe!<br />
The notice of his death<br />
shocked the world left everyone with a big empty in their hearts.<br />
In 2010, Diomedes won a Grammy in the category of “Vallenato y Cumbia”.<br />
He's also best- known for the big quantity of children he has, ¡almost 30<br />
children!...and maybe more.<br />
Family instability, controversy friends, alcohol, drugs and accidents marked<br />
his personal life...and mainly, the weird circumstances of the death of his<br />
wife, Doris Adriana Niño; but we have to admit that his talent was even<br />
bigger than all his troubles.

“Grupo<br />
Niche” is a group<br />
of salsa, founded<br />
in 1979 in Bogotá<br />
by Jairo Varela<br />
and Alexis Lozano.<br />
Varela was the<br />
director of the<br />
group till his death<br />
in 2012, as well as<br />
its producer,<br />
songwriter and vocalist. Alexis Lozano, who played the trombone and also was<br />
the music arranger, left the group to form the Guayacán Orchestra. The “Grupo<br />
Niche” is considered one of the most importants groups of Salsa in America.<br />
The first album of “Group Niche” was launch in 1979, with Jairo Varela and<br />
Alexis Lozano as directors. Lozano on the trombone and on the arrangements,<br />
on the piano was Nicolás Cristancho, Francisco García on the bass, Luis Pacheco<br />
on the conga drum and the singers were Jorge Bazán, Saulo Sánchez and<br />
Héctor Viveros.<br />
In 1984, they became the main group of Salsa in Colombia, thanks to the<br />
arrangements they did to the song “Cali Pachanguero”, a tribute to the<br />
“Worldwide Capital of Salsa”.<br />
Their best- known for their fast and rigorous dance’s music and also for<br />
romantic songs pretty much slower. Among their best- known hits, there are<br />
“Cali Ají”, “Del Puente p’allá”, “Sin sentimiento”, “Gotas de lluvia”, among<br />
others.

Andrés Cepeda Cediel is one of the best-known artists of the Latin American<br />
music scene. He was<br />
born in Bogotá in<br />
July 7th, 1973. This<br />
romantic songwriter,<br />

wowing his audience<br />
with his hits year<br />
after year since his<br />
career began in<br />
1990.<br />
Cepeda finds in love<br />
the perfect excuse<br />
to use different<br />
musical genres and<br />
to play lyrics of high<br />
emotional content.<br />
In the school years, Andrés found in the Rock in Spanish’s movement an<br />
invitation to begin to compose, where the idea of create a band with his<br />
friends came to his mind. In 1990, he started “Poligamia” with his<br />
adolescence´s friends, a rock band that lasted 8 years.<br />
Once dissolved the band, Cepeda continued his career as a soloist, launching<br />
his first album “Sé morir”; this album marked the beginning of a successful<br />
career and positioned him as a romantic artist, more close to rhythms like<br />
pop, bolero and ballad.
