Village Services & Regulations<br />
Block Parties<br />
The Public Works Department coordinates block party permits.<br />
Permit applications are available at www.northbrook.il.us. or by<br />
calling (847) 272-4711.<br />
Correspondence (postage-free green drop boxes)<br />
Four drop boxes are available for Village correspondence and<br />
water bill payments: Northbrook Village Hall, Metra train station<br />
at 1340 Shermer Rd., Police Station at 1401 Landwehr Road,<br />
and Wood Oaks Junior High at 1250 Sanders Road.<br />
Lawn Watering<br />
Lawn watering is prohibited weekdays between 10:00<br />
a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from May 15 to September 15.<br />
Local Television Programming<br />
Local programming is cablecast on Comcast on the following<br />
stations:<br />
• Northbrook Community Television: Channel 17<br />
• Glenbook North High School: Channel 16<br />
• School Districts 27, 28, 30 and 31: Channel 15<br />
• AT&T customers can tune to channel 99 and search<br />
“Northbrook” to view the NCTV and School District 28<br />
programming.<br />

Residents can tend small plots in one of two gardens<br />
located behind Village Hall and at Crestwood Place,<br />
1000 Waukegan Road.<br />

Party Ordinance<br />
Hosts of parties of 75 or more must register in person and in<br />
advance with the Police Department. Adults are considered<br />
liable for underage consumption of alcohol that occurs in their<br />
home. Call (847) 564-2060 for information.<br />
Pets<br />
Licenses and Regulations<br />
Dogs and cats must be licensed each year by July 1. To obtain<br />
a tag, present a current rabies immunization certificate with a<br />
completed application available at Village Hall. Dogs may not run<br />
free except on the owner’s property.<br />
