Pre-Ramazan hike:
Rates of vegetables
soar in Sindh
TALHAR, Jun 4: Prices of
vegetables have gone up in
whole Sindh province,
which the consumers term a
pre-Ramazan hike and traditional
negligence of government.
The prices of vegetables
have been artificially
hiked from 100 to
200percent in the wake of
bad governance at its
height. Potatoes and opinions
are being sold at
Rs40per kilogram, tomatoes
at Rs80, lady finger at
Rs100 and green chilies at
Rs200 per kilogram. It is
learnt that wholesalers of
vegetables have unilaterally
raised the rates of vegetables
as no practical writ
of government is found in
this region.
However, the concerned
departments of the Sindh
government are in their
deep slumber and there is
no government-level mechanism
to control prices.
