Firefighters were struggling to extinguish the blaze, which erupted due to shortcircuit. Many other roads of this area are also under gutter Armed men attack DSP's house KARACHI, Jun 4: Unknown armed men opened fire at a policeman's house in the metropolis on Saturday morning. According to details, the gunmen opened fire at DSP Qamar Ahmed's residence at Block 16, Gulistan-e- Jauhar. DSP Qamar Ahmed said that the armed men fled when retaliated the fire. Sindh Environmental Protection Agency lacks field offices in districts KARACHI, Jun 4: Audience of a programme held here to mark World Environment Day have been informed that Sindh's own environmental watchdog lacks field offices in districts hampering its ability to monitor and prevent instances of spreading pollution and other causes of environmental damage. Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) came together to mark World Environment Day being celebrated every year on 05 June. According to details, the teachers have staged protest outside Punjab Assembly against the possible privatization of government schools and unemployment. The protesters have warned of continuing the protest until the government accepts their demands. The continuous protests at Mall Road have badly irked the citizens as they are facing difficulties in moving on the roads due to severe traffic jam. Earlier, young nurses ended their five-day protest against the concerned department after successful negotiation. The staffers had demanded approval of service structure and health allowance.
