Homer Township Public Library
The Homer Township Public Library prides itself
on excellence in customer service. Located at 14320
West 151st Street in Homer Glen, it offers opportunities for
life-long learning for all ages, in a 24,000 square foot building
that was recently expanded. Automatic entry doors provide
convenient access, as do wider book aisles, with many popular
areas to read, sit and relax or meet and greet others.
Visitors will find a 24-computer area, six study rooms, a Teen
Room, Sunroom, Family Activity Room, Community Room,
and a Heroes Quiet Reading room with fireplace-- all featured
in a bright and inviting energy efficient space. The expansion
project was self-funded at no taxpayer cost through conservative
budget management and grants. Friendly staff members
are ready to provide a positive library experience and the assistance
that you need.
Open seven days a week, Homer Library offers you more
space to appreciate the things you love @ your library. Enjoy
free DVD movies, read a magazine, check out that brand new
bestseller, take a free class or program, register your child for
a fun free event, join one of our clubs, save money, and benefit
from what your library offers.
With a customer friendly staff we offer a wide variety of
programs, including Polish/English Story Time, Wiggles ‘n
Giggles preschool time, Teen Intern Program, and many book
discussion clubs. Highly utilized programs include Armchair
Travelers, Knitting Club, Cooking Classes, Yoga, Bingo, Star
Wars, and other educational and inviting programs.
Happy 10th Anniversary Homer Bookmobile!
The bookmobile has 5,000 items and makes 37 stops weekly
bringing items directly into community areas. With its
colorful design the customized bus is a favorite in extending
services, books, and programs.
Homer Library continues to be a community gathering space,
social destination, and a haven where information can be
accessed by everyone. Learning continues at every age and
