Village Government
Glenview operates under a council-manager form of
government. The Village President and six Trustees are
elected at-large. Each term is four years and there are no term
limits. Village elections are held every two years in April.
The President, with the concurrence of the Trustees,
appoints the Village Manager, responsible for
implementing Board policies and handling day-today
operations. The President also names members of
the various boards and commissions responsible for
overseeing and regulating different aspects of the Village.
The Village Board’s decisions and policy initiatives are
carried out by the Village Manager and six municipal
departments: Community Development, Fire, Manager’s
