Youth Funds<br />
• “Big Buck Open” Athletic Scholarship- Income<br />
is used to assist Gerrish-Higgins Roscommon<br />
high school students to attend summer athletic<br />
camps. The Fund will be used to provide a<br />
maximum $100.00 Scholarship, with the total<br />
number of scholarships determined by funds<br />
available.<br />
• Howard B. “Corky” Gaylor Memorial Fund-<br />
Supports projects, programs, and services for<br />
youth in Roscommon County. Preference will be<br />
given to at risk youth programs.<br />
• Kimberly Mires Athletic and Music<br />
Scholarship- Assists Roscommon Middle School<br />
(grades 5-8) female students to attend out-ofcounty<br />
personal advancement camps for athletics<br />
or music.<br />
• Roscommon Area Youth Booster Club Fund-<br />
Provides support for academic, athletic and<br />
fine arts programs at Roscommon Area Public<br />
Schools.<br />
• Roscommon County Kellogg Youth Fund-<br />
Used for youth activities, programs and<br />
projects within Roscommon County. All grants<br />
are determined solely by the members of the<br />
Roscommon County Youth Advisory Council<br />
(YAC).<br />
• Larry Sumerix Memorial-Summer Music<br />
Scholarship- Used to assist Roscommon Middle<br />
and High School students to attend Summer<br />
Music Camps and enrichment programs, based<br />
on student/family need.<br />
• Richard and Margaret Torongo Memorial<br />
Scholarship- Assists 5th – 8th grade Roscommon<br />
Middle School students to attend athletic and fine<br />
arts summer camps.<br />
Special Project Funds<br />
• Career Opportunity-Workforce Development<br />
Center Support Fund- Used to support the cost<br />
involved with the development and launch of<br />
the Career Opportunity Workforce Development<br />
Center.<br />
• The Erickson Family Fund- Used to support<br />
various charitable, educational, scientific,<br />
recreational and cultural organizations in<br />
Roscommon County.<br />
• Roscommon Area District Library Building<br />
Fund- Used to provide financial support to the<br />
RADL, specific to the Building Campaign and<br />
the development of the new library site.<br />
• Roscommon Area District Library Community<br />
Outreach Fund- Provides support to the RADL,<br />
its fundraising, marketing and community<br />
outreach programs and projects as directed by the<br />
RADL Board of Directors.<br />
• Roscommon County Health Services Fund-<br />
Used for health services, health promotion, or<br />
other health care related projects which have<br />
been identified as needs and priorities within<br />
Roscommon County or North-Central Mid<br />
Michigan.<br />
• Roscommon County Mental Health Services<br />
Fund- Supports mental health and substance<br />
abuse programs and services provided in<br />
Roscommon County.<br />
• Higgins Lake / Roscommon Non-Motor ized<br />
Trail Way System- Special Project Fund-<br />
Supports funding needed to develop the Higgins<br />
Lake / Roscommon Non-Motorized Trail Way<br />
System. This would include, but would not be<br />
limited to, contractor fees, supplies, materials,<br />
licenses and/or permits.<br />
• Houghton Lake Rotary Club Parks &<br />
Recreation Fund- Used for projects and<br />
programs which sustain the development,<br />
maintenance and preservation of the parks<br />
and recreational activities within Roscommon<br />
County.<br />
• The Ryan McDonald Memorial Fund- Used<br />
to support development costs of the Houghton<br />
Lake Little League-Graham-McDonald Sports<br />
Complex.<br />
