Have Faith

challenge and smash
my preconcieved
personally influenced
view of who Jesus &
indeed God is. By
learning about God the
Son (Jesus) and His
character, I began to
understand God the
Father.
What I understand,
especially now that I
am a parent myself, is
that God has given us
free will. The ability to
make choices rather
than be controlled. He
doesn’t like it when we
make choices that will
inevitably hurt us,
because He does not
want to see us hurt. He
wants us to have the
best possible life that
we can. But he stands
by and waits, and is
always there to
lovingly pick up the
pieces when things go
wrong, as any good
parent would. No-one
wants their children to
make mistakes, or put
themselves in
vulnerable positions,
but as our children
grow up we have to let
them make mistakes for
themselves. We have
to watch on, stand back
and just be there for
them. Our parents had
to do it with us and we
with our children. We
can offer as much
advice as we can, but
its the child that
ultimately makes the
choice.
This is a difficult
subject to cover in so
few words. When I
first started to pursue a
relationship with God I
was given this letter. I
want to share it with
you because it really
helped me to
understand God the Father’s nature. The words are backed up by
