Waking UP …<br />

“Any awakening which does not inspire <strong>the</strong> sleeper to Love<br />

In order to truly Wake UP, we must have <strong>the</strong> courage to not only open our<br />
eyes, but also to actually get out of bed … to not only get out of bed, but to<br />
actually put on some new clo<strong>the</strong>s … to not only put on those new clo<strong>the</strong>s, but to<br />
actually go forth and wear <strong>the</strong>m publicly.<br />
In o<strong>the</strong>r words, it is not enough to have <strong>the</strong> Humility to “wake up” mentally<br />
with regards to what it means to really LOVE ano<strong>the</strong>r, though that is both an<br />
important and an impressive first step. No, to live truly Meaning-fully; to truly<br />
L<strong>IV</strong>E — we also must have <strong>the</strong> Courage to enliven that understanding — to<br />
actually live that LOVE.<br />
*We must have <strong>the</strong> Courage to shed our “old clo<strong>the</strong>s” of religious fervor —<br />
including <strong>the</strong> religions of a<strong>the</strong>ism (science & logic) & New Age mysticism (“selfhelp”)<br />
— in order to go forth and actively Care for o<strong>the</strong>rs … to appreciate a friend<br />
by doing <strong>the</strong>m an anonymous favor; to forgive an enemy by doing something Kind<br />
for <strong>the</strong>m as well.<br />
*And we must have <strong>the</strong> Courage to shed our “old clo<strong>the</strong>s” of political<br />
fervor as well — including <strong>the</strong> political “parties” of our apathy & our indignation<br />
— in order to get out <strong>the</strong>re and actively serve o<strong>the</strong>rs … to give to <strong>the</strong> poor in our<br />
community; to actually be Kind to <strong>the</strong> strangers we meet.<br />
We CAN make a big difference, my Friends — we CAN be a force for<br />
goodness and positive change. And yet we can only do so if we choose to get up<br />
out of our bed of familiarity, to change into <strong>the</strong> “new clo<strong>the</strong>s” of real LOVE, and<br />
to <strong>the</strong>n go strut that stuff!<br />

LOVE is our only real reBirth …<br />
