IDENTIFICATION
I am someone who always strives to not
only do the best in what I’m passionate
about, I also aim to best myself in things
I see myself enjoying. I am someone who
puts work ethic and career success above
all else. I have been creating digital
works since the age of 12 and have always
been ahead of my time. I began to learn
ArchiCad at age 13 and have always been
intrigued in the software and its
absoloute potential. Through my time of
being both a desginer of 2d pieces and art
work and 3d products, I have achieved
awards and accomplishments that identify
who I am. In 2011 I placed second in a
$17,000 graphic design competition and in
2012 placed within the top 10 graphic’s
subject grades in queensland schools.
That year I was presented with an academic
award for my achievements in Graphics,
Philosophy, Science & Information
Technologies.
Other than being a designer, I am
identified by my peers and friends as
being someone who consistantly pushes
themselves to do better. I am always
looking for a challenge that can show my
potential and can really help me develop
as both a person and a designer
RESUME
Matthew Murphy / 0450033088 / matthew.murphy5@griffithuni.edu.au /
Hi there,
My Name is Matt, and I’d love to take on this challenge. Although I’m
young, and still studying (I will touch on this further down) I am a
successful designer who has been in the field for long enough to have
worked on a large international project (worth over 1.5 million), and
a couple other retail/ office fit outs. I have a passion for 3d works
(mainly within Archicad) and work in both 2d, 3d and professional
rendering. (Proof can be provided).
As I stated earlier, I am still studying (BA of Design M. Interior
Design.QCA) however due to being picked up by a design firm early into
my first semester of my last year, I decided to finish my degree on
a part time basis, meaning I have 1 class left to finish.
I hope to hear from you soon
Designpoets - May 2015 to May 2016 - Khoa Ngyuen
Job Description: Drafting, conceptualisation,
visualisation, rendering and client liasion.
I was picked up early in the year by a past Tutor within my course, as he
believed my potential showed during a 3D Course, where I was not only
considerably faster than the rest of the students but more precise. During
my time with Designpoets. I have learnt a lot about working with Clients
and Best Practice, as well as improving my Drafting and conceptualisation
abilities. Ive worked with suppliers and trademen to ensure the final
product is as close to what was designed as possible.
Pop Blocks - May 2016 to Current - Dan Burnett
Job Description: Drafting, conceptualisation,
visualisation, rendering, branding, marketing, brand
devlopment, web design
Pop Blocks is one of the only Modular residential architectural businesses
in Queensland and is quite a small company. Because of this I have helped
develop the business and create a stronger identity in the market. The
biggest project I worked on in my time was concept for 24,000 schools in
West Africa.
Through developing Pop Blocks brand, I have found that residential design
does not fit my personal goals and aspirations.

FIG TREE ISLAND
(PROJECT)
Fig Tree Island was a project completed
within my Third Year at QCA. The project
itself was in conjunction with the Brisbane
council in aims to improve some of
Brisbanes attractions. Fig Tree Island
being one of Brisbane’s last natural
reserves we felt it was crucial target to
improve. I took this task on myself and
aimed to keep as much of the natural
resources highlighed as possible. I completed
this by using natural timbers and
lighting that highlighted the Fig Trees
instead of isolating them.

CHINESE ROYAL KITCHEN
Chinese Royal Kitchen was a drafting
contract in late October 2015. My
responsibilities included; drafting all
works, space analysis and ensuring that
all spaces had correct electrical
cablings and electrical output, meeting
with the client and returning briefs.
This drafting stage also included working
extensively with AS1428.1 to ensure the
disabled toilets met all requirements.

DIGBY’S
Digby’s Menwear was a contract job
completed at the end of 2015. The
contract included; Conceptualisa-
tion of the space, design of all
joinery and professional renders of
the space to be shown the the
client. Working with my Boss and
Director, I took host to this job
and created what I believed to be a
professional take on the brands
identity to help increase revenue
for the brand while simultaneously
trying to please the client as best
as I could.

TOMMY BAHAMA
Tommy Bahama was my first, and biggest
project ive worked on to date. Over the
span of 3 Months, I completed all concept,
prelim and construction documentation
with the guidance of Khoa Nguyen.
This
included an estimated 40 pieces of
joinery with details, elevations, floor
plans, power plans, merchandising layout
plans and the 3D Model.

BATHROOM RENDERS
This set of Renders was a personal project
I wanted to complete to show the quality
of my Rendering techniques. This aimed to
show a lack of texture mapping, depth,
colour sampling and style. This project
was completed and rendered in the space of
4 hours to show the speed and effiency I
am able to complete.

FANTASIA MACARTHUR
The FantAsia MacArthur store was a
pre-existing store that I was contracted
to render the refurbishments that are to
be finalised. The entire Job from
modeling to rendering was completed in
less than 9 Hours, including major
changes. I was not involved in any
drafting or conceptualisation of this
space.
Current Store
3D Model before Render

FANTASIA THE PINES
Fantasia The Pines, was a concept store
that attempts to change the Fantasia
brand, from a takeaway store to a casual
dining experience. My part in this
process was partly to conceptualise the
space, pick finishes and create a 3D
Model/Renders.

WEST AFRICA SCHOOLS
This concept was brought to us via an
investor in Africa, and Has a potential to
teach millions of children in west Africa
over the next 10 years. The concept used
modern ideas and cheap manufacturing to
create inviting personalized classrooms
that kids could be proud to attend.
I created all the floor plans, models and
renders.

MT GLORIOUS HOUSE
This was the first project I worked on
when starting with Pop Blocks, and It
taught me a lot about Modular design, its
restrictions and what creates a
successful, architecturally designed
house. Through this process I worked
closely with Dan Burnett to create the
clients vision, which they loved in
return.
I created all the plans, model and
renders. I also worked with the client
closely to produce what they envisioned.

BRANDS PLACE HOUSE
This concept was a standard proposal
made, with the addition to extra fire
safety protocols due to the location of
the site.
I created the proposed plans , 3D Model
and Renders

graphic & miscellaneous

This was the final cover for my End of Year High School book.
This Poster installation was created for the video game 'Bioshock
Infinite', and was created for the creators (Irrational Games /
Kevin Levine) which was met with a feature on the Bioshock Infinite
Facebook page in 2013
During my time at the Queensland College of Art, I was part of a small team
that designed an art gallery for Charlleville. The team I completed 3D
conceptualisation of the spaceand all drafting.

This was a pen I designed for a product design assessment. The pen was
innovative for the time, as erasble ink was not created at te time, and the
pen was designed to be a creative piece for both designers and people of
authority who didnt want to make mistakes. It includes a detachable tie bar
and an eraser.
