Supporting our Community<br />

Without the loyalty of our local community we would never have expanded<br />

and been as successful as we are, so quickly.<br />

We will always be grateful for all the support from our clients, business<br />

colleagues and friends, many of whom have gone out of their way to<br />

recommend us and have helped grow our business and create<br />

employment opportunities for local people, including yearly apprenticeships<br />

through the National Apprenticeships Service.<br />

To say a big thank you we have ring fenced a percentage of our income to<br />

support our local community and raise money for charity ...so how do we do this?<br />

We raise money for local schools, clubs and societies by organizing<br />

competitions and donating prizes, we support local events like agricultural<br />

shows, classic car runs, the National Gardens scheme, fetes and fun runs, and<br />

we sponsor sports kits for rugby, cricket and football teams.<br />

As well as these, every year we also nominate a charity of the year, usually<br />

a locally based worthy cause and we fund raise for this throughout the year<br />

with raffle events, cake sales and sponsored events, like skydives and half<br />

marathons. We are all very proud to say that since 2009 we estimate that we<br />

have raised over £70,000 for charity in our area.


How do we help the environment?<br />

Any responsible business needs to do their bit to save energy, so, at both our<br />

offices we have adopted a policy to minimise our impact on the environment<br />

and develop a ‘green’ corporate ethos.<br />

• We recycle everything, including all paper, card, glass, card and plastic<br />

• We re - use paper by creating rough pads for office use<br />

• We print on both sides in all documentation<br />

• We default all our printing to black and white<br />

• We walk to viewing and valuation appointments where we can<br />

• We use our economical company cars when we can’t walk<br />

• We never print emails, but save them to computer folders<br />

• We email most of our documentation including contracts, forms, sales<br />

particulars and letters<br />

• We have insulated both of our offices to the highest standard<br />

• We purchase all office supplies locally<br />

• We always use local businesses for services and maintenance<br />

• We always recommend local businesses to all our clients and customers<br />

• We employ staff who live locally<br />

• We hate plastic bags so we print our own sustainable bags for life and we<br />

give away them away!<br />

All of these initiatives make a small contribution to the health of our<br />

environment, to make sure that we run our business in an ethical and<br />

responsible manner.
