Firestone Brings in Summers as Seasoned <strong>Roofing</strong> Sales Manager<br />

Single ply roofing specialist, Firestone Building Products, has<br />

appointed Russell Summers to the post of product sales manager<br />

- commercial roofing, as part of its strategic growth plans for the<br />

commercial sector. Russell will be responsible for developing the<br />

company’s customer base across the contractor, specifier and<br />

distributor markets for both Firestone’s RubberGard EPDM<br />

system and its UltraPly TPO roofing membrane. He will be<br />

responsible for the commercial sector across the UK and Ireland,<br />

focusing initially on growing the company’s distribution network in<br />

Triflex Appoints Business Development Manager for Scotland<br />

Commercial roofing and cladding company, T R Freeman Limited,<br />

John O’Kane into the role of Managing Director. He joins the company<br />

from Prater Limited where he held the position of Project Director with<br />

Rewards for Young Professionals Announced<br />

The winners of the annual Construction Development<br />

Alliance (CDA) Awards were revealed recently at Burnley<br />

Mechanics Theatre, during a ceremony hosted by TV<br />

personality Dominic Littlewood. Developed to support the<br />

future of the property and construction industry in the North<br />

West, the awards, sponsored by Sika Sarnafil, recognise the<br />

hard work, determination and growth of young people in the<br />

sector. Bobby Bolton, 23 year old construction manager at<br />

LendLease, was crowned Young Construction Professional<br />

and Overall Winner at the awards. A recent CITB report<br />

predicts that thousands of new roles will be required to meet<br />

demand in the next five years. Rod Benson, Sika <strong>Roofing</strong><br />

said: “The lack of construction apprentices is something we<br />

are actively lobbying in Westminster in conjunction with the NFRC. The awards are another positive<br />

Dave brings 30 years’ experience of the<br />
