Location of forests: An area of 68067.37 hectares is under forest, which is around 10.21% of the total area of the district. There is also linear plantation of 2211.94 km along the rail/roads/canals in the district. Trees grown in the area<br />
include Shisham, Mulberry, Babul and Eucalyptus. Production of Timber and Firewood is significant. Bahawalpur is located in the sub-category of Irrigated Plains (Cotton Zone) agro-ecological zones of Punjab.<br />
