What Is Fixed Asset Accounting? 

Regulations such as the US Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 have put 

increased emphasis on Fixed Asset Accounting and internal controls 

relating to assets. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act only applies to US owned 

companies listed on the NYSE – including Australian subsidiaries, 

however the focus on more accurate auditing standards is universal. 

Increasingly, many companies are assigning higher priority to 

maintaining detailed, auditable records on their asset purchases and 

disposals (with related dates, costs and depreciation conventions) 

and the location and condition of assets. We recommend our top

Metallised finish gives mirror-like effect and added durability. Suitable for indoor 

or outdoor use. 

Permanently debossed (or self-debossing) so writing remains visible even if 

ink is removed. Highly resistant to chemicals, solvents, abrasions or extreme 

temperatures. Use indoors or outdoors. 

Durable, flexible and versatile material is suitable for indoor or outdoor use 

and will withstand minimal exposure to chemicals, abrasions and inclement 

weather. 

A flexible material, scuff and ultra-violet resistant to withstand outdoor use. Life 

span is 3 years or more outdoors. Great for curved surfaces. 

Very thin, fragile material that breaks into small pieces when attempts are made 

to remove it. Holds securely to most flat or curved, smooth, clean surfaces. 

Mylar overcoat protects printed message and resists moisture, smudging, 

abrasion and weather conditions for up to two years outdoor life. 

Laminated polyester top coat provides extra resistance to moisture, abrasion, 

smudging and cleaning, making labels far more durable than simple paper 

equivalent.

Soft, pliable metal can be bent for application to curved surfaces. Impervious to 

solvents and chemicals. Low resistance to heavy abrasion. 

Brass 

An alloy of zinc and copper, distinguishable by its golden colour. Durable 

material with high resistance to chemicals and abrasion. Suitable for harsh 

industrial enviroments and indoor or outdoor applications. 

Stainless Steel 

Extreme abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistance, for use in very hazardous 

conditions, such as high fire risk areas, marine equipment and boiler plates. 

Withstands temperatures up to 1200°C. Shinier finish then aluminium.

SetonGuard ® Property Asset Tags are high quality anodised aluminium foil tags. Colours, wordings 

and designs are actually etched permanently into the material. They can be used indoors or out and 

resist solvents, abrasion, steam cleaning (except black filling in numbers), weather and temperatures 

of -40°C to 149°C. Permanent type 3M adhesives bond immediately to most surfaces.

What are the differences between Aluminium, Brass and 

Stainless Steel Plates? 

ALUMINIUM – soft and pliable metal can be 

bent for application to curved surfaces. Low 

scratch resistance and will withstand exposure 

to most chemicals. 

BRASS – an alloy of copper and zinc, 

distinguishable by its gold colour. Can be used 

indoors or outdoors and has good chemical 

and scratch resistance. 

STAINLESS STEEL – tough enough for the 

harshest of environments, has excellent 

chemical, scratch and corrosion resistance, 

and withstands temperatures up to 1200°C.
