PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR 38 YEARS The Montrose Center’s counseling program offers professional individual, couples/family and group counseling by licensed master level therapists, allowing you to explore behavioral and emotional issues, problems and conditions without fear of encountering prejudice, fear, ignorance, homophobia, transphobia or heterosexism. The Montrose Center also provides excellent clinical training to students seeking advanced degrees in social work, counseling, and psychology. Since our start 38 years ago, the Montrose Center has expanded its counseling services to include crucial programs such as our Anti-Violence and chemical dependency recovery programs. We also serve as the only same-sex domestic violence shelter in the state of Texas, providing an affirming understanding of the needs same-sex domestic violence survivors face and arranging safe housing options. We’re proud to focus on integrated care, offering a variety of services for individuals seeking a whole health approach to wellness and recovery, emphasizing screening and preventive care, offering health services in collaboration with Legacy Community Health and offering counseling. Clients can always talk candidly and comfortably with our providers, knowing they’re receiving state-of-the-art care at an affordable rate. Counseling services offered: Coming out Depression Anxiety Stress Suicidal thoughts Chronic illness Grief Parenting Relationships Career Family of origin Gender identity Gender transitioning Self-esteem Internalized homophobia Religious abuse Mood disorders Personality disorders Addictions Eating disorders 1,347 people recieved therapy services in <strong>2015</strong>. 141 LGBT violence survivors received advocacy and support services.
