A Message from
Mitchell Sardou Klein
Music Director & Conductor
Peninsula Symphony’s 68th season, Fortissima, celebrates
classical music’s hidden gems, presenting works by four
contemporary American female composers as well as guest
performances by extraordinary soloists from across the country.
These acclaimed artists bridge the gap between traditional
concert halls and popular culture, bringing to life diversity
through music.
From a rising international star on the piano touted as the next
Lang Lang, to a trumpeter bringing this seldom-heard solo
instrument to the forefront of concert halls around the world,
to a popular Bay Area trio of home-grown entrepreneurs, this
season will inspire you with a range of dimension that only
classical music can offer.
Our orchestra will transport you around the world and
beyond with classics like Rimsky-Korsakov’s
Scheherazade, Elgar’s Enigma Variations, and
Holst’s The Planets.
We look forward to sharing these incredible
experiences with you!
about last season.

He will be performing the deeply personal and
thrilling Schumann Piano Concerto in a program
that concludes with Elgar’s passionate Enigma
Variations, his masterful love song to his wife
and dearest friends. Tao received a YoungArts
gold medal in music, a Gilmore Young Artist
